yes i've searched and read everything....but i need some detailed instructions as to how i can remove the center console....i can't get the silver edge off without thinking i'm going to rip the damn thing into pieces. so pls any help would be appreciated

I can't help, but if you plan to do a large amount of this, go to TrussvilleMazda.com parts store and order the shop manual. It's worth every penny.

dude....first off the silver pieces are part of the center console...they dont come off....first remove the console piece around the shifter....next, remove the screws that are throughout the console in all the compartments...some are under the carpet...then the console just unsnaps....rear half first then the front half....if you have questions....e-mail me...i did this just last night running speaker wires for my door panels....
