I tried playing my burned cd's, they're CD-R's, burned as audio discs, not mp3, but they won't play. The brands i used were Maxell and GQ. Does the player not support cd-r's or cd-rw's or something? If so, that SUCKS. It won't play mp3 discs either?

Oh by the way it's a 2007 rx8, 6cd changer. I got the grand touring last week but they somehow forgot to install the cd changer so all i had was the radio up until today.

i have the 6 disc and my first one wouldnt play burnt media. but it also had other issues, randomly not reading real CD's, some times even brand new out of case ones! so they swapped it out. burnt CD's play ever since, any brand of media burnt at all speeds.

btw: anyone know if the six disc changer uses up the space behind the lower blank panel of the console? the one that people have been putting toggle/rocker switches in? or is there still a huge hole behind it?

also... any good ideas that dont cost money to get rid of my 6 disc changer and get the MP3 player?

i have an 04' GT and it plays burned CDs.. but i do not have the 6 cd changer.

At what speed do you burn your CDs? Try it with decreased speed and see if it helps.

same here, my '04 6-disc changer plays cd-r/rw audio cd's without problem

try Sony or Verbatim.... or those CD-Rs specifically labeled 'for music CD'

methinks you just have a faulty changer, get it replaced under warranty?

Mostly memorex. Also use Kodak and Maxell, basically whatever is on sale.

Take your CDs to the dealership and test them in their demo models. If it plays...

try to use those brands ^^ slower speeds is good too. as well as making it an MP3 cd if you can.

ah my first glance at that area, least till i get my car back. i wonder if the JDM start button will fit in there. i know it does on sigle disc models, looks like it may be a bit tight with the changer

well, this sucks but i doubt you can get it exchanged under warrantee for not playing burnt CD's. now if it skipped or didnt play gemuine CD's then they swap it out. i had the exact same problem as you in mine previously. heres my timeline:

1. would sometimes not read or skip badly on burnt CD's
2. wouldnt play burnt CD's at all
3. started not reading or skipping genuine CD's, even BRAND new ones
4. warrantee swapped for a new one
5. plays everything i throw at it, cept for MP3 obviously

actually i think you should be able to have it swapped under warranty even if it DOES play regular CD's, i believe on the spec it did say CDR/RW compatible...

ok so i tried my friend's burned cd's and they all work! and i tried the cd's i had earlier that wouldn't work, and they work too now. wtF!? i guess i had to break in my cd player haha. all is good now, it plays anythin i throw at it. thanx every1
