well the Type S is basically the 6mt but you dont get the same packages as in the usa. DSC, A/C are standard leather isnt nor is 6CD apparently as i had to get them to nick it from one that had it, for some reason however it did come w/ the DVD nav (possibly bcs its an ex demo) with a map of japan in it , and apparently i can convert it to a normal dvd player if i leave it for a couple of days with the shop. It doesnt have the beepy change gear thing but unfortunately it does have a really annoying limiter which kicks in at 187 kph (still havent found a cure)

but i digress. Can it be flashed?!

Im sure it could be flashed - but what will you use as a map?
I assume the only map you have is for Japan.

maps aside, there seems to be a bunch of other menus to do with the car itself

Got same problem myself. I'm in Ireland and I imported Type S from Jap. Got Japanese nav and tv. What do you mean by "flashed"? Do I have to change the dvd player?

Flash means changing/updating the software of the nav into english.

It wont be the dvd itself that would need changing as thats just for reading the dvd's, there's a board somewhere i guess, maybe part of the HU.
