Mine was only on order for about 5 days when it came in. Hope you get yours as quick as I agree it is a PITA. I just removed the screws and unplugged it and took it out until the nw one arrived.

I too took out the screws and unplugged. I took it in Friday morning for them to look at it and they had to special order the visor. I'm scheduled to go back in Wednesday morning so 3 days turn around.

Visors still breaking

I have a 2006 and gripped the passenger side visor because it hung loose and wouldn't stay up. Before my appointment came up the drivers side broke all the way off.

Car has 500 miles on it!

Respectfully,
Kay R. Fisher

Yup.. a poorly designed plastic piece. When it heats up, it gets soft and wil break when you use it. I'm still waiting for a aftermarket one!!

Ok, why hasn't any aftermarket companies come out with a good "plug" to stick in the place of where the visor was. I say this because I installed plugs in my NB miata from I.L motorsports to replace where the visors were. I'd rather just not have bad visors at all. O by the way my visor broke today, pissed

its obviously no big deal for mazda to replace thousands of these.. i personally had mine replaced twice. go figure.

man, if I could design and build a new one, i would... someone could make some nice coin off this.

Miles dont matter when these puppies break. They can break on you with 1 mile! If your car gets hot enough to soften that plastic, all you gotta do it tug on it a little too hard, and you are screwed!

Of course it doesnt happen that quickly, but believe that it can.. They're just two plastic pieces fused and glued together.. pure dodo.

Does anyone know if there has been a redesign of these yet. My passenger one is starting to split and it is only a matter of time before it breaks for the 2nd time.

It would seem very simple to add a couple plastic clips inside the 2 halves to keep them together, along with the glue, but I guess that would cost too much, huh Mazda.

Mine broke a few days ago and my car is a 2006, brand new only a month old. I am surprized no one has them in stock since they break so easy. I have to wait a week in order for mazda dealer to get it in.

My drivers side broke 2 weeks after I got the car. I walked into the service department and said my drivers side sun visor........ and the service guy said "exploded? You werent trying to use it were you its only for holding cds." He ordered me one and I had it 2 days later. If so many break mazda should do something about it. Maybe a mazdaspeed light weight version

My passenger side broke after around 20k miles and the dealer (Lancaster Mazda) replaced it under warranty, no questions asked.

The more you use them the quicker they break I am noticing. I never mess with mine and my second set is finally starting to crack like the first ones did and my car is almost 3 years old. So I guess they are just for decoration.

My car is two months old...
Must be a design / manufacturing / glue issue on newer visors...

Same problem here. Bought the car about 3 weeks ago and yesterday, the driver side visor falls apart. A sun visor that can't withstand the sun?

Had my car maybe 2-3 weeks and my driver's side visor cracked open. Granted, it's been over 100+ here the last week in Dallas, but this is ridiculous.

I was driving my car away from the used dealer a few months ago and realized both visors were cracked (bought as-is, no warranty). Just got them replaced this past weekend... it's nice to have the sun out of my eyes

Just add me to this list..... a special ordered 2006, only a month old and already had the d/s visor replaced. Sometimes Mazda just doesn't give a damn.
