I have the Bose System. I have not had any problems with any of the speakers in the car.
I usually have mine between 9-14.
Recently I changed my In-Dash 6-disk changer for an MP3 Player, and I have never noticed any shorts or unusual sounds.
I'm sure the dealer can take care of your problem.

Good Luck - Cesar

There is no "sub" in the bose system...It consists of 9 speakers:
1x 4" mid range/tweeter, Center channel (Center dash)
2x Front tweeter (top of front doors)
2x 8" woofer (Bottom of front doors)
2x 4" mid range/tweeter (Rear deck)
2x 6"x9" woofer (Rear deck)

That said, if you are not getting bass, it would have to be all 4 woofers not playing...so the question is, are you talking about not having bass when the volume is under 4, or when you turn the volume above 4? If you're saying no bass under 4, than I would say it is more likely to do with the amount of power being sent to the drive the woofers...at that volume, it is so minimul, its likely not to move the woofer very much (thus sounding like it is off) until a heavy bass hit in the music (thus making it sound like it is sparadic). If the problem is at medium to high volumes, however, than I would have it looked at, as it is covered by warranty, and it may be something to do with connections, or even the amp.

Hope that helps...

The woofers in the doors are 9" they serve the purpose of being midbass and subwoofers.

OK- Now things are changing...
I was told by the dealer, and have heard others mention that the speakers in the door are 8".
Not that it's super crucial, but I'd like to know for sure which size they are.
To my 'limited' speaker knowledge, they don't make 9" round speakers.
They make 6x9 inch, but I've never seen 9" round. I even did a search in Yahoo for "9 inch speakers" and every link said "6 x 9 inch speakers".

Just wondering.

The only other that I have found is Phoenix Gold. When I finally get around to updating the complete audio system, I will consider them but likely I will just go with some good 6.5 woofers instead.

Yes, a 9" speaker is very unusual.
