Battery Died??Is it b/c of my subwoofer

I didnt want a ghetto *** sytem that just vibrates my car so I decided to get something that was simple and something that put more bass. So my friend and I installed a small 10 inch Infiniti Basslink Subwoofer System in my trunk.... its this little speaker that we mounted that has a built in electronic crossover, input level controll, bass Eq, etc....basically everything you need for a system in one little black box. ANyway, about 2 weeks after we installed it, I remember parking my car uphill on my driveway with almost an empty gas tank and left it there till the next morning. When i tryed to turn the car on the next morning all my lights worked its just the car wouldnt start, so I thought it was b/c i didnt have much gas and my dumbass parked on the driveway. I didnt have time to get gas b/c of skoo so it was about 3 days till i finally got a tank of gas n refilled my car and this time none of the lights worked not even my trunk. Then, we charged up my battery and everything worked fine for about a Week. I didnt drive the car for one day and the damn thing died on me again (The day I was going to Install my Greddy Exhaust!!! I was soo pissed). I got it towed to my dealership yesterday and theyre saying that I might have to pay for the battery b/c of my speaker. But I've been reading alot of battery dead issues on this website and was thinking that maybe it wasnt my speaker. I'm not sure tho so any help would be appreciated. Is there any way I can avoid paying for the battery?? THanks

I had the same problem. The alternator can't keep up with even my 600watt amp. So what happens is you deep discharge your battery, and normal batteries can only take that a couple times before cells start going bad. To fix the problem get an optima yellow top battery. I got the 51R because it's big enough for what I need and the posts are reveresed and in the correct place. The 34 yellow top has a lot more starting current but you have to mod your cables because the positive and negative are in the wrong place and the battery is large. If you want to save on weight and have good bass without having to worry about your battery or your lights dimming with the bass. Go with a optima yellow top, it's made for deep discharging and won't fail if you drain it dead, you can just recharge it back up. Red top is for starting purposes only.

Added: The stock 04 battery ( if you have that) was pretty bad to start with, adding an amp really does kill it. Happened to me this winter.
