Alarm Suggestions

Ok my cars been keyed a couple times in the past week and now I think its time to invest in a better alarm. I'm looking to spend about 500-700 dollars and want the proximity beep when someone gets too close. Anyone know of any good alarms that work well with our cars? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly, I don't think that an alarm will help much if some bastard decides to key your car.

1) Have a stakeout on your car w/ alarm button on your remote entry ready to be pressed, 2) turn your shock sensor way up (if step one can't be achieved), AND 3) wire this to the alarm. Then wait...

HAHAHAHAHHAHAH thats exactly what I need. What about the swivel blades from the side that break any carjackers shins. haha thanks for the laugh. Anyways I was thinking about getting a car cover too along with the proximity alarm. Hopefully that will deter the bastards.

until you realize that your cover is constantly setting off your proximity alarm.

my advice is to get better insurance. as long as you can't see your car there is always a chance someone will do something to it. the only alarms that can prevent anything must be active like flame throwing BMW friend, not just passive noise-makers.

if you installed the avelectronics box. i can help you make a video security system.. with a motinsensor you can make the video camera turn on and start vtr to record the ********* as they do it or at least as they walk away. I will do this to my 8 before i am done. I will have the backup plate cam, and a review normal distance camera hidden in the back window. and ill mount one up front behind the revire mirro above my V1. then they will trigger when ever they sense movment ! they will record to a VTR hard drive .

Just a thought..
Alarms only make them scratch harder and laugh louder !
