thanks for the advice on the adapters i will definitely need those, and thanks firebirdude on the advice on head unit and speakers i went with the following

Head Unit: Kenwood Excelon KDC-X396 (as you recommended but different model to adjust color on the display to match my dash)

Front speakers: Polk Audio DB6501 DB Series 6.5" Component Set (as you recommended)

Rear speakers: POLK AUDIO DB691 6x9

Should be receiving items next week, I have a question can i hook up all these speakers strait to the stereo? will i get a decent sound without an amp? I dont want to install an amp right now do not want to get it stolen while in freight, i will add an amp but till i get over there personally. And thanks again for the advice

You should be fine without an amp for now but I would throw one in when you get a chance. Did you manage to pick up a new rear box trunk pass thing yet?

Yes. If those speakers were not there that spot makes for a Excellent storage space for items like Oil and Pre-Mix.

Damn rights. Those are great subs all round. Man, I miss mine haha.

First of all, thanks for reviving a 2 year old thread.

Look in the for sale section, or search for "Mazda RX8 Metra Kit" on google.
