Question Who makes LED Tail Light for RX-8?

I know there is a Japanese company, Hannsamuobu, that custom made LED tail light for RX-8 as pictured. Is there other company or individual makes LED tail light for our cars??

I am working on my set right now, that rasp actually sent me the parts. If you have a lot of time on your hands you should be able to do it yourself, but as he said and I will admit too, it is very laborous. He has helped me out a lot on the wiring but there is still a lot to it.

I have emailed feint lighting (www.feintlighting.com) about making some, I told them that I am sure there would be lots of interest here. That was a couple weeks ago, and I haven't heard back from them though.

It would help if more people went to their website and requested RX-8 LED Taillights. Come on people, let's all bug them to make some!

Sweet, thanks 2tone. The more emails they get from us, the more likely they are to produce something.

I told them I also have an idea for the design tell me what you think:

Instead of just following the circular shape of the taillight, I thought it would be cool to do a rotary shape inside the circle, like an upside-down triangle.

What do ya'll think? Sweet right?

I just sent an email to help the cause also. I figure if enough of us write, then they can't ignore us forever. Help the cause.

I have spoke to Michael Mamos at www.clearcorners.com last year, I have to get him a set of OEM tail light and clear front corner light for R&D. I am all the way in Hong Kong and a little hassle to send them all the way over. Also, it won't be cheap and will need 2-3 months to complete.

that taillight looks nasty. there have been custom taillights made by some aftermarket bodykit companies. i forget their names though. and they were very pricy.

Unhappy I just dont agree

we have enough triangles and rotory emblems on our car, but thats a widely challenged opinion.

I say the taillights should follow the oem look, a thick red ring of LEDs for the break lights, bright white bars for the reverse lights, and maybe a sweet seqeuntial* yellow bar for the turn signals. LEDs would be brighter and better for a smoked out taillight mod.

OH yeah, side note, Laguna Seca GT racing on the speed channel right now, gotta go watch pretty RX-8s whoop some ***...

^^ agreed, i think that the 8 has alot of shapes already, to add more will be too crowded. Im kinda beginning to dislike my rear lights as well as I think people may think i switched them out to those, I may just do a red out tail light film on them.

how about those spiderlites? They could imitate the triangle theme without hitting you over the head with another rotary shape. But a little pricey for bulbs...

ALTAG and Kris,

I am starting to agree with you both. Putting the rotary shape in there might be too much. Just sticking with a circular shape for the LEDs would probably look better.

Anybody heard back from Feint Lighting?

Mazda really cheaped out by not putting LEDs in the brake lights originally. The 3rd brake light should definitely have been LED.

There are already LED conversion for 3rd brake lite ! Its even brighter than the stock coz there are 64 cluster of LEDs in it ! It not a DIY version rather a purposeful circuit board version too!

Will try to post pic with it later the day! I got it for US$85 !

It really gives the 8 an updated look !
