Veilside fitment

I swapped bumperes with my friend who had a veilside bumper and it fit great on his car. We go to put it on my car and it was like it didn't fit very well and i could just barely get the bolts in.I still can't get the plastic underbody to fit right so that i could clip it in. Is there anything that i should know that would help make it fit better? And by the way it fit his car which was an 04 and mine is an 06. I don't know if that makes a difference but i figured i'd let you know. Thanks for the help.

Either one of your cars ever been in an accident? Are you sure you are properly mounting the bumper? Had did the bumper you swapped your friend fit on his car?

I believe he had been in an accident but that was before he had the bumper. And yes im mounting it just fine, and my bumper went right on to his car no problem.

I had to take off a piece on both sides but it was black not white. Would that happen to be it?
