Strakes...?

So, since the first time I saw the RX-8 I saw it both with and without strakes. And, on some cars I think the strakes look awesome while on others I think they look crummy. Is this true for anyone else? The problem is I can't seem to identify why I feel they look great on some and not on others. Anyone have thoughts? Are there different size strakes out there? Does it have to do with what finish you have on them or what color your car is? I want to hear peoples' thoughts...

I had a color matched set on mine...mixed feelings.

The best ones I have seen are the OEM ones, usually the polished ones.

Also the style to pull this look off to actually look good, in my opinion I find it very difficult.

I only like black strakes on a white car.
