Smile So I put HID fogs in....

This past weekend I decided to put in HID Fogs... I also changed out my HID headlights to 6000K so that they would match... All I have to say is Holy Crap the fog lights are bright

Changing out the headlight bulbs actually made them a bit brighter.... Also personally I like the 6000K color better than the stock...

I have to reposition the fogs, but overall im happy with my mod...

here are some quick pics........

Looks good! Where did you get the kit from? How hard was the install?

I got the kit from here: VVME.com I have to say it is a shady looking site... but I have personally ordered three kits from them for my cars and their prices are amazing...

Install was easy, had to take the bumper off, find a good spot for the ballast then zip tie up, and that was it.. Their kits are plug and play, no cutting/splicing/etc...

the headlight bulbs were more time consuming

Alucard, those look great! I've been considering HID fogs for a while, but I don't want to blind oncoming traffic. How's the glare? Honestly, do you think they may be hazardous for other drivers?

Actually, the stock 4300K bulbs are the brightest you can get. The higher you go in color temp, the less light output you will have (technically the further from 4300K/pure white the less light, if you go lower and get into the yellow colors you are getting less light also). I believe 6000K bulbs are about a 20%drop over stock. I've got Philips 6000Ks and can't really tell a difference, it even seems a little brighter because you are seeing more of a blue color on the road. But that's an optical illusion. Not bashing higher K bulbs, I have them myself, but understand that it is actually less light output.

Ok, Hopefully I answer everyone's questions here...

The kits from that website are awesome, quality is excellent. I have had the kit in my subie for about 5 months and have had no problems.

I know when you see the shipping its a little steep, but remember these kits are still cheaper than almost all other kits out on the market.

blamerobb: For the fog lights you would need the single beam kit. And the light output for 6000K is a little blue, but that is what I wanted. For the best and brightest you would want the 4300K. I have those bulbs in my subie and they are brighter than the stock HIDs.

Aipex8: They are very bright, I decided I will only use them on back roads and if no other cars are on the road. The other night I used them on the highway and everyone was moving out of my lane hahaha hopefully that gives you an idea...

Alucard, how far did you have to push back the reflectors in the fog light housings? If you get a chance would it be possible to snap an up close picture? I think I may have pushed mine too far back & out of the way.

Ok, I got a few questions about the kit and installation.

In the kit you get everything that you need. You do not need to replace any wiring harnesses.

As their website states:

"Your Kit includes everything you need to get real HID lights. You get the HID bulbs, wiring harness, ballasts and igniters. Our Kits are designed for direct plug and play. We give you extra long protection, and the smallest ballast of any kit available. There is no wire cutting, no custom fitting and no stress. Just plug in each connection. No cutting or splicing of wires is required. Fits all vehicle types and comes with everything needed to convert to HID!"

Here is a quick DIY on the install.

**I will take my bumper off and take pics of everything this weekend**

01: Take off front bumper
02: Put new bulbs into Fog Light housings **make sure the are all the way in and secured**
03: Plug in Red and Black wires to the original bulb harness
04: Plug in both remaining wires to the ballast
05: Test lights make sure the light up... if they don't light up, don't worry just reverse the red and black wires in the original harness
06: Once the lights light up, tape off the red and black wires with electrical tape
07: Find spot to mount the ballasts
08: Once spot is found I zip tied up and zip tied the wires
09: Put front bumper back on
10: Viola your done.

This is what I ordered for my fog lights (H11):

And this is what I ordered for my headlights (D2S bulbs are +$15 extra):

For the headlights you would also need the single beam kit.

Dual beam is for cars that use the one light as both the low and high. Our cars have seperate low and high beams.
