Originally posted by KC_RX-8 how much to debag just the "Mazda" and "RX-8" in the rear?
The whole debadge, filling holes and repainting cost 5 bills. You can remove the "RX-8" yourself with a hairdryer and dental floss because that emblem leaves no holes behind.

Agreed, ran out of gas and just wanted to take a pic. I plan to finish it off!

Breaks & Repairs: Shift **** peeling (replaced under warranty), center console slider guide (replaced under warranty), Headlight lens covers messed up (replaced under warranty)
You da man with the vision that pulled this off. I was just making an observation. I think it looks great.
Can you share any details on how you setup the picture. I've never taken a good low light shot of any of my cars. There is a parking lot with this huge blue company sign facing that puts out a blue hue. Thought that might look good if I can squeeze in a sunset/sunrise. But I'd like to know more about the lighting and stuff here. The shot looks awsome.

I think it looks great. But 1 thing to consider... you went to all that trouble and expense to debadge the car... are you SURE you want the "RX 8" emblem on the front? Looks good, but kind of negates all the debadging.

Are there holes behind the "M" badge? Front and rear?
Originally posted by Rx8Past you get great shots of your car in sf, where was this pic taken?
The two night shots were taken at the SSF BART station.

greese, mikeb, We've been having bad weather here. Haven't had a chance to take new pics.

The pictures were taken without a flash. In reality it's much darker than in the pictures. If you extend the exposure, "light" collects and your able to get a good shot so long as nothing is moving. At least that's how it works with a traditional negative, I do my shots with a digital, it works the same way I guess. If you use a flash you won't get the same type of effect.

I didn't debadge to hide the identity, after some consideration I decided the car would look cleaner and more unique without them. I never bothered with previous vehicles but I've been having fun messing around with this car. After looking at Mazdabob's grille treatment I thought the "RX-8" would kick it up a notch. Also, I probably wouldn't do the grille with both the rotary accent and Mazda badge, for me that would look too busy up front.

Thanks but I'm not the originator of that idea either. I just take from here and there and try to add my own spin.
Wow, wtf is with all the rice on this board? People, this isn't a Ford F-150, billet grills belong on trucks, not RX-8's. Ugly as hell. Wouldn't you rather be spending money on something that would improve performance? Coilovers maybe?(probably lowering springs in your case). Just being honest.
I don't think they called it that back in the 50's, where this type of customization started.
Personally, I've never debadged a car. I do have a 64 Corvette that when purchased used in 1980, had already been debadged by the previous owner. I have considered rebadging her, but never spent the money yet.
VooDoo, the grille treatment with inclusion of the logo is sharp! Not sure if it would look as good on any other color than yours. I for one look forward to seeing what others choose to try to make their fine ride even finer.
