Removing 2009 Front Badge And Foglight Accents

I posted this in DIY figured I'd post it here as well.

Fog light accents:

1. Use both hands and pull forward until the housing comes free

http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/6833/img0094f.jpg

2. Unscrew the two screws securing the accent

3. paint that tacky piece of crap!

Mazda badge:

1. Take off front bumper

2. Take off the 4 screws and 4 bolts holding the bumper space thingy on

3. Remove evil post retaining things

http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/3642/img0092x.jpg

4. Push on posts from behind and slide a credit card under the badge to free it from the glue (you may need a heat gun or hairdryer to do this but I just did it on a hot day)

I'll get to the side marker chrome pieces soon, I haven't been able to get the markers off.

Paint it black and put it back on, of course!

I didn't get a chance to glue it on because the weather had other plans.

I think the emblem looks great either way, but the foglight surround looks so much better painted black. Good job, I'm sure a lot of 09+ owners are going to want to do this!

I don't know how I could post a better pic... just pull the thing straight towards you and there are two screws holding the chrome piece on. It's really simple, the fascia is designed to come off to change the foglight bulbs.
