Hey guys im thinking of getting a CF hood but im also considering switching the colour of the care from brilliant black to Matte/flat black and im thing standard cf hoods are a little to shiny so I was wondering if anyone here has a dry carbon hood and if so du have any decent pics to give me an idea what it looks like.

yeah thats what I thought I just wish the seibon one wasnt so dawn expensive I mean how can they justify a 3 times the price increase over the standard CF hood.

I want rev's hood, but i also wanted it painted to match the car. Does it matter if i get matte or wet carbon if i want to paint it? I know matte is more expensive, but it seems like it would hold paint better.

I think u will find that both wet and matte still have the same clear coat on so it won't make much difference it's just the colour tone of the cf under it that makes it wet or matte.

Dry carbon is carbon fiber preimpregnated with the correct amount of resin. This is then put in the mold before the part is actually made, autoclaved (heated) and formed. Apparently the layers of carbon will be closer together and formed properly, with the correct amount of resin. I'm not 100% sure about all the specifics, but dry carbon is the 'real stuff'. As in the fact, it's the strongest, lightest form of carbon fiber that you would find on actual race parts. Dry carbon parts will be lighter and stronger then it's wet laid counterparts.
There's a few gaps in that statement but I believe it's the correct one
