Custom Aluminum plate...

Would like to make one for my front license plate. I just need a rectangular piece of aluminum cut, with a couple of bolts attached to the back of it. Does anyone know someone that could do this? I can forward very detailed specs... Thx

It would DEFINITELY be ILLEGAL in Texas....as with driving without a front license plate. Granted, I've been driving without mine since I bought the car and have had zero problems with officers in Austin, Cedar Park nor Leander (where I live). No one has stopped me because of it..you put something like that on, you're guaranteed to be pulled over and cited. Looks pretty cool though.

Nope not illegal at all, and this is the sticky part... The OP has the right idea of 'bending' and not 'cutting' the plate... I talked to several state troopers about this and had one do soem research... the rule is kinda up for interpretation, but if your convincing enough and polite upon being pulled over(which for this I have several times, I also work on a military base, the MP's gave me the most **** for a couple weeks) you should walk away unticketed.
Heres what I was told - As long as there is no permanent damage to the plate it will fly. This is so that upon return of the plate it can be restored to its original condition it will be fine.

So yes, it is illegal to do this in Ontario. I can't comment on other provinces/states.

^ Maybe so, but if I do get pulled over, I'm confident that I can talk my way out of getting a ticket. Definitely going to do this. I've never been one to follow all of the rules anyways

Yep, same here in Texas..any part of your plate that's covered by the bracket, will probably warrant you a citation..granted, MOST P.O. just ignore it..Like I said earlier, I have no front license plate at all and have not been stopped yet. (Knock on wood.)
