B-pillar applique part number?

I just recently picked up an 06 Shinka and I love almost everything about this trim package but the piano black b-pillar applique with the japanese characters, kinda tacky IMO. I'm looking for just the stock flat black pieces but parts depts don't seem to know exactly what I'm talking about. Am I calling it by the right name, and is it interchangeable or an integral part of the door? Thanks.

That's just the door frame, covered with a black sticker. The sticker can even be peeled off and then the body color paint would show.

Hm, good to know. I would assume the sticker is sold at dealerships, no?

Not sure about that, but if you really want to get rid of the piano black applique, I suppose you could go to a sign shop or wherever they sell suitable black matte vinyl and cover that area.
It's even possible that if you remove the applique, you'll find the black vinyl underneath already. Only one way to know...

Tyler,

I bought a whole roll of piano black to cover my center console and I used it on my pillars as well. It's holding up okay... Though I think I'm going to have to fiddle with it when it warms up to make it look perfect.

Anyway, if you want me to send you some, so that you can avoid spending $50 to buy the minumum (excessive) amount from a sign shop, send me a PM with your address. I may not get to it until Monday, just FYI.

Dealer has some plain piano black ones, that might be my best option. I'll let you know though.

I have those piano black ones that have the RX-8 logo.
I think they look great. Much better than the plain matte black vinyl.

Still willing to ship some piano black vinyl? Are you charging for this service? Thanks in advance.
