About black headlight tint

I put a headlight tint on my headlights and it looks pretty cool in the morning, but it looks really ugly once i turn on my headlights, i have HID head lights, but they just look brown after the tint. Any suggestions??? wut should i do instead or change that will help??

nothing you can really do except remove the tint. mine does the same thing, but with like a hint of red with the lights on.

i like both. love the tint on the headlights on a cloudy day. on a sunny day, a black housing would look sweet. although depends what you black out inside the housing.

Yeah and at night you can't see anything at all, i'm going through that problem right now. But i think the solution would be if you upgraded to an after market HID kit with 8k or 10k bulbs. they will be a lot brighter and i'm sure the 35w is way stronger then stocks that we have. they have some hid's that come with 50 watt output which means brighter and will take away the brown glare.

8k to 10k only has to do with color, nothing to do with brightness. Usable light would be less than the factory Phillips bulbs.

yea, HIDs in the 8k-10k really dim your visible light output. anything above stock is less output already.

if you are having trouble seeing with tint on the headlights. your tint is too dark.

To each his own but things like this are so stupid and pointless to me. Why buy a car with great Projector headlights / HID's and then cover them up with cheap *** headlight tint.

I agree. The HID headlight assemblies are expensive too

well my tint isn't cheap and is extremly dark, my taste and my car. and yes 8k and 10k are colors but they are the brightest and clearest of the spectrum and i've played wit plenty of hid kits to see them do wonders when compared to stock bulbs.

our projectors are pretty crappy. they don't project one bit when there's light out.

nevertheless, it's a look. plan and simple. the film also protects the the headlight from road debris.

they are bright when looking into them... but they don't project as well onto the road.

Right, your look, your car. Just my opinion. Oh definitely for protection clear laminate is good (wish I had done it from the get) I just don't get tinted laminate.

HID's:

and yes 8k and 10k are colors but they are the brightest and clearest

No offense but you don't know what you are talking about. Just because they look pretty doesn't mean they are brighter. Kelvin is the measure of color temperature, not brightness. It's not debatable, your are wrong.

point is that you can upgrade from stock which is around 3k range up to 4k+ with 50watt which will make your lights a lot brighter.

stock is actually Philips 85122+ 4300k, which is pretty much the brightest 35W possible. but yes you can do 50W if you upgrade the bulbs and ballast to them.

dude, do you think i can check out your car, can you post some pics?? your ride looks really sweet on your profile pic, looks like you got a tsunami body kit and also in brilliant black. do you know wut it might look like with just the inside of the lights painted black instead of a tint on the headlight glass?? also, have you tried piano black b-pillars on your black 8 before?? i'm trying to get some, but i searched on the 8 club and some people say that the piano black look doesn't fit the car too well, wut do you think??

They serve no useful purpose other than "looking cool". But when off I don't believe they hurt anything in terms of lighting.

Haha, I'm cooler than a polar bear's toe nails. You asked me the question, just giving my honest opinion. If you like them then it's all good.

Yes, I have interior LED's and yes they do serve a purpose, they are much better than the factory bulbs. Since when do LED's serve no purpose, haha. You guys are funny.
