3M Scotchcal clear hood protection

New to the forum. One week on the 8. Love this motorcycle on four wheels feeling! I was wondering if anyone had tried the 3M Scotchcal? It's clear film that acts like a bra without loosing your look.

You see it on Porches and such and if anyone knows how to get it cheaper than $200+

Also, I upgraded to the bose system and I have a $100 bose card that is good for bose purchases if anyone wants to sell a set of fender strakes.

Got the M flash last week. Noticed power gain at highway speeds after 51/2 grand. Thanks Mazda for continuing to work on this issue. I have noticed a power dip between 7 and 8 grand for just a second.

Anyway, Hi to all and when is the next New York RX8 meet?

First rotary too...... where have a I been all this time?

Welcome. Imagine this is the same stuff as comes as standard on th car (UK anyway - presume US get it too) on the rear wheel arch and at the rear corner of the back door sills.

Does anyone know where this can be purchased in sheet form. I'd like to cover the underside of my skirts and the bits that protrude into the front and rear wheel arches as they are picking up a fair bit of stone damage.

Go to 3Ms website and they do sell it in sheet form but only to vendors and they don't recomend you put it on yourself. Hey I used to live in England. I grew up in Brighton.

Ziebart calls it Clearshield and it is sold under various other trade names, but my understanding is that it is all the same 3M product. It is pretty difficult to install, my recollection is that the RX-8 kit is a 4 or 5 on the difficultly scale out of 5. It was around $400 installed at Ziebart. When I checked into prices for the full kit (with appearance package) there was not much difference in price for the kit vs. full retail with install. It's basically invisible unless you are within 10 ft or less of the car. It definitely works as adverstised, I got it on my 8 within the first month and the front still looks basically brand new after 8000+ miles. You can't really see it, but here are the pics with it on.
