Here's the situation:

I currently have the Racing Beat reflash and an AEM CAI, throttle body coolant mod, and AP underdrive pulley installed on my '07.

I have a standard (no custom tune) Cobb AP collecting dust in the closet.

I like the performance and the 9300RPM redline of the RB flash, but would like the engine and fuel economy monitors available on the AP. Stage 1 provides the 9300 RPM redline, but I don't know how else it compares with the RB reflash and it warns only to be used with stock intake. I considered going to "stock" mode on the AP for the MPG and engine monitors, but that seems like a step backwards...

Anyway, I'm wondering if it'd be ok to run the Stage 1 for now (with the AEM CAI), and if anyone else has direct experience with its performance versus the RB reflash.





P.S. I am pretty inclined to get a custom tune eventually, but want to "finalize" my engine mods by getting my exhaust and maybe BHR ignition first. Not sure how much effect those will have on tuning, but since I'm thinking about going ignition+headers+midpipe+"cat"back, I'd like to be sure before spending $300+. I know MM offers a 6 month tuning period, but I don't know when I'll be getting those items, so I'll wait until I have "everything."

P.P.S is this even a "good" theoretical combo? I hear some people have issues with pulleys; the final goal I'm hoping for is AEM intake, AP pulley, custom Cobb AP tune, ignition upgrade, header, midpipe, catback. Not looking for all out power, just a bit more, smoother, louder horsepower from bolt-ons. Anything else that would go well with these mods that I'm overlooking?
