Need a sticky for Stage x current status?

With all the various maps that Mazda has gone through, and the apparent non-stop map tweaking that Maurice has been doing, it might be helpful to have a sticky thread that simply gives an update as to what the current status is of the latest map with the latest PCM version. For instance, what can I expect with if I buy a new stage 1 and have the M flash? I understand that dynos aren't practical to do all the time, but I've seen it mentioned that Maurice uses G-Tech data a lot...G-Tech comparisons between stock and w/ the ECU would be helpful.

I'm sure this info is scattered about, and searching is almost pointless, as the key words turn up everywhere. Also, I hear conflicting things at times...I've heard reports of bad idle and power losses with the latest stage 1 and M, I've heard it works great, etc etc. An official story in one easy-to-find location would be great.

If somehow this does exist and I've missed it, please let me know!

bureau13,

Did anybody get back to you with the location of the flash level yet? I asked the salesman today when I ordered my silver RX-8 and he could not seem to find it. I thought I had read somewhere that it was on the left underside of the hood?

Hey Thom,

I was actually referring to the need for a "sticky" posting in this forum, not an indication on the actual car. I should go look on mine as well though...I've been assuming I'm at M, since I just bought it two weeks ago, but I should verify that.
