MazdaManiac Locked files

I tried to contact Jeff and also use google chat to no avail - so this may be useful for other users on here as well...

I purchased the cobb and turning service and have recieved the final tune a few months back. I had then decided to turbo my vehicle and I changed from the cobb to Int-x for reasons of which are complicated but neccesary for my particular turbo setup (and subsequently sold the cobb unit). Now that I have gone back to NA, I'd like to use the tune for which you have given me, but it seems the files are locked and I cannot use them with another cobb unit that I purchased from a user on here. How can we go about getting this to work?

He locks them on purpose. No way around it. But in this case it sounds like its just the devices serial number still being tied into the tune, so doesn't sound like it'd too much of a hassle.

Look in the current thread on how he does tunes now, he'll be on gchat on the 19th I think. Ask then. If he says no, come back and whine afterward.

You guys arent understanding the point of this thread. He wants his old tunes back from when he was NA. They are just locked because he sold his old AP and his new AP has a different serial number. He wants Jeff to change the serial numbers so he can get his PAID tunes back, not new ones...

no, he wants tunes for a AP he no longer owns. It's a slight but important difference.

send an email to the proper email address and wait in line. Jeff will either make the change or he won't.

My advice is to talk to him during the next live tuning session and see what can be done. Since he is the only person who can unlock the file there isn't anything forum members will be able to do.

The OP never stated what email address he used, nor did he say why google talk failed..

Well I emailed Jeff, just through his account on here... Not sure if there is a better way. I guess I'll wait until that google chat date is available (finally got the thing working) - but it's a real shame that he's always too busy to make quick changes for things such as these issues...

Here's why he hasnt gotten back to you:

If you submit any communication by any other method than that explained on the Custom Calibration Submission Schedule page, your submission will be completely ignored and discarded! NO EXCEPTIONS!
here's the link to the submission schedule:

I know it sucks that something so easy has to go through the regular channels, but there's been enough people bashing him over the years that he only does it this way now. It's the old story about doing it different for one person and then 10 people jump on your nut sack because you won't then do it for them... not sure how old that story is, but it sounds old and painful.

I did reply to your e-mail, though you didn't send it to the right place, use the correct format or even clearly explain what it was you were trying to do.

As stated elsewhere in this thread, contact me again on the 19th.

For the record, you did not reply to my email. I never got anything regarding this issue from you or your business. I clearly explained what I was doing.. in fact it was a copy and paste from this post. You need to get your information in order, not me.

Please let me know when I can get these files in order as I did not make the 19th to get in contact with you.... and for something so simple!
