Thanks for elaborating on the OMP subject.
I have multiple requests about installing the REW engine. The ECU has to be able to complete the O2, Cat, etc.. monitors in order to pass the state inspection. Evap is the only monitor that can be incomplete.
I will accommodate the ecu by fabricating temporary parts, down pipe to work with rx8 cat, secondary air injection, air pump if I have to.
Rx8 Throttle body and CPS(CAS) installed permanently. Ideally RX8 OMP on FD front cover.
Is there anything else that can trigger the limp mode, or operating the engine?

I'm pleased to say that with the 3 table changes the car was able to complete all its emissions monitor tests at around ~100 miles and several drive cycles. EVAP check is still "incomplete" but I didn't need that to pass. So just to be clear MazdaEdit DTC masks WILL allow the car to complete its emissions monitor checks.

I've been using AP for a long time until my car develop some problem recently. During troubleshooting process, I uninstalled my AP tO stock ROM. The workshop flashed a different map using Mazdaedit. Subsequently I want to install my AP again but couldn't. No problem using mazdaedit. Any way I can restore to stock ROM without paying a sum? Cos I really like going back to AP. I did make a backup of the stock ROM file from AP thou.

I always keep the stock map for any tunes I do . Have never needed to flash back to stock for anyone yet though.

it's from 2006 EDM Hi-Power RX-8, but MazdaEPC says (based on the VIN) that it was actually made in the fall of 2005.
However, the dump is encrypted and I'm afraid that the key is derived from the VIN / OpenPort serial # or any other licensing info MazdaEdit uses.
If you send me your dump from AP, I can at least check if it's the same ROM, but that's all I can do at the moment. MazdaEdit (just like COBB AP) changes the authentication key to the ECU, which is why COBB cannot communicate with the ECU. I know the key (I have been working on a custom flashing solution), but I lack time so the project is on hold.
I don't recall at the moment, but looking at how MazdaEdit stores the ROM image, I think it keeps the complete image file along with a list of changes made to it, so I would guess that if you have any MazdaEdit image, it should be able to revert it to stock and possibly uninstall itself, but I have not checked it.

Thanks. Can you pm me your email address for me to send my AP stock rom to you? Pardon me for asking, to restore stock dump back to ecu is simply flashing the ecu with the stock dump file? Or is there another procedure to it?
