At the Tactrix page, do we need a "Reflash Adapter" with the Openport 2 for the RX8?

Has anyone updated to Windows 10 yet? I have been curious on how that would impact the application's registration since our product keys were based on some OS keys.

And of course Epifan is hard to get a hold of so I haven't been able to get an answer.

Mine still works on 10. Microsoft has done a very good job keeping things compatible.

Yep, was more concerned about the software's licensing checks. Upgraded to W10 and can add to the confirmation that there are no problems running the software.

Bringing the discussion back into here from that thread...

Just incase you flash and wonder why your car is loud as hell and sounding like a vacuum when you turn it on after a flash lol.

From my last testing it seems that speed1 and speed2 control the low fan speed and speed3 is high fan speed. Speed4 seems to also be high fan speed.

Not sure why we don't have control of the med speed yet
Interesting, thanks. I did not have that issue, but it has been maybe a month since I updated Mazdaedit.

Also no access to the engine off, fans on tables that I have found. From the service manual, that is based on "high engine compartment temps" or ECT>~230F. I've left the other fan temps stock, but I'd be interested in lowering that one a little... or maybe I just continue with opening the hood after a track session or when I park it hot in the garage.

For those that are getting a "version is expired" message (likely already covered). Use this link to grab the latest installer and just install on top of your existing install: http://www.epifansoft.com/download/mep/mep_v2.exe

Epifan is being helpful thus far supporting me transferring my license to my new 6 port ECU. I head over to the stealership tomorrow to (hopefully) get them to burn my 4AT VIN onto the 6MT ECU.

I imagine epifan will then have me do a dump of the 6MT ECU and he'll send me a base dump file like what he did originally.

Assuming all goes well I'll do a dance.... still supporting me 2+ years post purchase.

I would be very interested to see 'how' a Dealership can change vehicle VIN with IDS as it is not possible.

They are not changing my VIN. They are going to burn my VIN into a 6MT ECU.

You mean they are going to 'try' to force your auto's ABD (not VIN) into a 6MT ECU, good luck with that one too....they may be able to force it, but I have my doubts.
IDS just does not permit operator to alter original ABD specs, Calibration code is not adjustable with IDS. Good luck.

worked just fine.... only piece left is pulling the ABS board and replacing it with the one that was pulled with the 6MT ECU as they are already paired. Don't know why you're so surprised, Ash. this is the same procedure RR had performed quite some time ago when he did his 4AT to 6MT conversion.

So the software "expires" on a regular basis even if you are a registered user and you have to get a new copy from Epifan?

Brettus, could you post up the link that Epifan sent you for the download, or email it to me? Currently the download link on their website is bad. In other words, I can't log :/

(on the plus side, while idle is off a bit, AFRs around 100% load are looking OK)

hey guys, im about to drop at least a grand into a good ecu platform. my current eyeballings:
adaptronic e1280s
haltech s2000 modular( new stuff)
and the mazda editted rx8 ecu.. all i am doing is two rotor FI and PPort N/a engines, but i really need 3 or 4 ecus.. this is were mazdaedit has the ability to shine..
one $1000 lisence is good for many ecus, but i need to get around the immobilizer, and i need to know about adjusting injector end time

i need to move the injectors around to the p port intake path and change when it stops firing.. i looked thru the thread but without peaking inside the software i dont know if there are unlabled maps that may be what i am looking for..
the immobilizer work around is not as big of a deal, as i can just grab keys/nats ecu that match the pcm...
thanks yalls.
