Haltech has been able to control the OMP since the E8/E11's, so yes, no problem.

Well, your wiring diagram doesn't reflect this.

Then how to make a base map for Greddy BOT for Haltec 1000 without filling up the list 1 by 1?

Please don't mention Cobb AP. I had enough.

Hey guys, just thought i'd bring this back to life, now that the Sport and Sprint units have been successfully installed on RX-8's for the past couple of months.

If any have any more questions id be happy to answer!

So far i can list the following about a sport being installed in the RX-8:

1. Proper interface with stock crank trigger
2. Staged injection with primary pulse disenrichment, secondary injector lead time pulsewidth.
3. OMP control capabilities.
4. Additional inputs and outputs to allow for plenty of additional control and monitoring.
5. Dual map capabilities.
6. Onboard map sensor.
7. Onboard datalogging memory.

And the list just goes on and on. I invite everyone to download ECU Manager from the Haltech website and send me an email, claudio@haltech.com, so that i can send them an RX-8 base map and diagram for them to review it to see if they might be interested in this option. Unfortunately Haltech does not have a built plug n play application, but with the diagram and a boomslang harness its very easy to install it.

Will a plug and play harness ever be available? I'm sure a lot of owners would rather not have to chop up their OEM harnesses to wire in an ECU. Something similiar to the Interceptor-X adapter would be ideal I think.

Buying an EMU adaptor harness and splicing it in shouldn't be too difficult unless you want to use mil-spec connectors

It may be, and as ive said before, a boomslang jumper/extension harness will allow you to use a Haltech "short harness" to install the kit and not have to splice the OEM harness. We've already got a diagram for it.

But i couldnt give you an ETA on a fully done kit unless the demand was there, something like a standing order from somone, or even a big group buy.

Hopefully we'll have something soon enough, but for now, its a manual installation.

What advantage does this have over flashing the stock ECU?

/The Hymee Tune software rocks.

Hey Claudio, I looked over the diagram and there are a few things that get disconnected from the stock side pcm. If everything is hooked up as the diagram, wouldn't the engine go into limp mode, no dcs, and etc?

It's rather crude and has minimal tuning features as compared to the Cobb AccessPort

It's a sub par option which is why no one runs it which is why there are no updates.

Search for the Turbo R3 thread, he runs a Haltech on that setup, he may be able to help, he is the only person running it with any sort of success. Assuming he still is of course, he has not been around in a while.

Im familiar with Haltechs as I have the older E11 running my 20b. It would be nice to have some updates because I may be purchasing an S2 Rx8. The diagrams on this thread appear to only be for the S1.
