Dashboard NAV tray

Mazda makes a dashboard insert tray that was designed for those who want to install an aftermarket Navigation or DVD screen.

It is also useful as a place to mount gauges, or for a radar detector.

Other uses may exist, depending on your needs..

I follow with some pictures I took of this part, pus a pic of one used for a NAV install by a forum member in Japan.

The kit comes with all needed fasteners, parts and bits and a manual for installation, plus instructions for installing the Mazda NAV screen.
Templates are included for cutting the dashboard panel.

I will next post up a pic where a fellow installed a different NAV screen, using the same dash kit.

2 1/8 or 2 1/4 depending if we go out horizontal, or follow the line of the bottom of the tray bottom..

No, wait, after looking again where your line is,
that should be 1 7/8" .

Thanks. I'm looking at installing a motorized, DIN sized LCD monitor in the tray by cutting out the back of that face and mounting some brackets to the underside to support the monitor. Standard DIN sized head units are just under 2" as I understand it. Does it seem sturdy enough that something like this could be possible?

It has been done already, so I see not reason why not!

I could really use one of these, especially for my satellite radio. Plus I've already drilled a nasty little hole in that same area to run my sat radio wiring. The price is a little steep for me though right now ($110.00). Any chance that price could be dropping anytime soon? If you have any specials anytime soon please PM me. Thanks, Lewis
