If you go to canzoomers web site it showed $750. I just got my confirmation email today and they said they adjusted thier pricest and the totall way only going to be $640. That was after shipping and everthing. Also, the only option you have is to install it yourself, i believe.

Yeah, (lol), the problem is you'll never get it. I ordered mine over a month ago, paid for it by credit card 3 weeks ago, and still no Stage 1. Good Luck!

Speaking of BS - whining continually about your order's delay IS BS. Lots of people are waiting, only it seems the rest are doing it patiently! You would have the right to whine if you cancelled the order because of the delay and got a refund. If you've left your order standing - be patient!

(Otherwise Canzoomer might just do a "special" version of the ECU program just for you - BOOM!) :p

(JUST KIDDING!!!!!)

Gordon

Gillberg, I'm mean Gord96Brg, do us all a favor and shut your pie hole. I have every right to express my opinion on this matter, and my statements represent the feelings of many others who are in the same boat.

Just because you swing on CZ's jock doesn't mean I have to. This post is the first time I've expressed frustration in anything but a calm and professional manner.

I feel that I have the right to express negative comments regarding CZ's methods just as many people have expressed postives. I'm one of the few people on this forum to discuss my (negative) feelings on this openly. Trust me, there are many others who would like to speak the same, but don't, because they're afraid they're gonna tick CZ off and never receive his product. I'm not afraid, and you should respect that because I bet CZ is smart enough to.

It's simple.

BWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! :p :D

If you go back to forum posts from late August and early September, you would find some seriously heated 'discussions' between Canzoomer and myself - I'm one of the LAST people you could accuse of sucking up to CZ! In fact, not wanting to dredge up old history, but I also accused Canzoomer of being a whiner for several reasons. At the time, he was - but he decided to do something about it instead of just complaining about the missing HP. The end result is the Stage 1 ECU Mod.

I long ago withdrew my whiner comment and apologised for it, because he certainly proved that he wasn't a whiner. He's also accomplished something I wouldn't be able to, and that's start up a sideline business to meet the unexpected demand from people who want the same improvements. That is NOT easy, and takes a lot of start-up capital, effort, and time. You're showing extremely little appreciation for that effort by posting EVERYWHERE with whining about how you haven't received your order yet, even though a lot of other people haven't, and it's been explained over and over why there are delays.

If you don't wish to be considered a whiner, then you should stop whining (while leaving your order in place, talk about spineless?), cancel your order, pull up Maniac's posts about the E-Manage, and roll your own solution. Pay RX8Club sponsorship to start your own vendor section, sell your competing solution - do it better.

It's incredible that even while Canzoomer is posting about the methods he is considering to improve the situation you're complaining about, you whine about him trying to improve things! "Spoiled selfish brat" is the term that comes to mind. It's obvious that Canzoomer is well aware of the shipping delays and the concerns of buyers - despite your claim to be the only one brave enough to express your dissatisfaction, it's apparent to the rest of us that others have been expressing their concerns much more politely, and that Canzoomer is more than aware of the issues - even though some, like yourself, would have him ignore the issues because you (ignorantly) assume that a planning effort is distracting from the production efforts. Canzoomer obviously knows how to run a business; you obviously don't.

Sure, you certainly have the right to express your opinion - apparently you feel that right does not extend to others? Your opinion is that you don't like Canzoomer's business practices (yet you continue to patronise his business). My opinion is that you're whining. How exactly does your claim of the right to your opinion give you the right to insist that I should withhold mine?

Regards,
Gordon

Gordon, first of all the statements I've made (in multiple forums) regarding this matter were never a personal attack against CZ or anyone else. I just expressed my frustrations by stating facts from "my experiences." For you to butt in and and call me a "whiner" is what I consider to be a personal attack. That's the reason I asked for you to "shut your pie hole."

I'm a newer RX8 owner (Nov. 03) and I'm relatively new to this forum. Not knowing your personal past with CZ, I based my "jock swinging" comments on statements you've made recently.

As for doing something about this situation, I thought I was, by purchasing the Stage 1. And the fact that I haven't received it in a half-way reasonable amount of time has me disgruntled. I never claimed "I could do better," I simply want the product I paid for over a month ago.

Listen bud, I'm not your bitch, so quit with the name calling (spoiled selfish brat). By the way, I don't think it makes me selfish to want a product that I paid $500 over 3 weeks ago. I know I'm not in this alone, and I've made many references to the others who are in the same boat.

I understand the history of this product's developement and it's marketing. I'm fully informed on why there are supposed hang-ups in production. My patience was exhausted when I didn't receive my unit the third time I was promised it. That is my case, nothing more nothing less.

Finally, the reason I posted these experiences in multple locations on this forum was to relay my personal situation to others, in order to help them.

Gordon, just quit while you're behind in this conversation. Insulting me isn't making either of our situations any better.

Right. You wrote, in this thread and the same thing in several other threads:

No, I can see where broadcasting to new people that Canzoomer will never deliver on an order isn't really a personal attack. Why should he consider someone bad-mouthing his business and advising people to never order from him an attack? Sure, I can see where telling people that they'll never receive an item they ordered is a statement of fact. Let's just ignore the other facts that plenty of people (ahead of you in the back-order list) HAVE received their orders, and that deliveries are reported daily. It's perfectly fine to tell others that they'll never receive an order, on the basis that you haven't received yours YET. It's also perfectly fine to broadcast that your credit card has been charged, when Canzoomer has posted that it was NOT charged? Yeah, that's fair and objective.

I think it's pretty clear and obvious where the name calling began in this thread. As for supposed recent "jock-swinging" statements - I still don't see where my posting that I appreciate what Canzoomer has done for this community with his efforts is "jock-swinging". I haven't ordered this mod or any single other item from him - I have zero vested interest in trying to currying favour.

Gordon

OK Gordon, I'm tired of bickering with you like a couple of kids. My card WAS charged, and so were the cards of many others on January 13th. Last time I checked, you weren't running his billing department. Had my card not been charged I wouldn't be feeling this sense of urgency. For Christ's sake, it's the middle of winter, how fast can I drive? The bottom line is that I paid for the Stage 1 and now I want it.

Cough up your $500 and sit on hold and see how you feel. I don't know if you're married or not but I am. My wife has been riding about spending this money to begin with. To have no product to show for it isn't going over well with her.

Finally, as far as the name calling goes, I'm big enough to say I'm sorry. What can I say? I had a bad week. My winter car (2001 Toyota Corolla) got hit by an uninsured motorist, and a bunch of other things silly things went wrong.

Gordon, you are a little quick to jump on anyone who has an opinion that dissents from yours, especially about Stage1, like when you jumped on epitrochoid for trying to organize a group buy, among several others. Try to lighten up and let people speak their minds without fear of your retaliation, please.

i feel your pain mdw3333...i ordered a good month ago but CZ keeps me updated in a reasonable amount of time through email...i live in Chicago and it's been below zero over here so the Stage 1 really won't be useful for me anyway...i just bought early to get in on the $500 price...other than that, perhaps, i won't even put it in right away...

just keep cool, there are many happy people here with the mod...posting stuff like "you're never gonna get it" just adds fuel to the fire and we don't want that...i want the mod but i can wait considering how long i've followed the research and development of the system and how much work has been put into it...it'll be worth the wait

WAF,
This is a term I think many of us are familar with, this stands for Wife acceptance factor. I am having a tough time with getting this in regards to the stage 1 unit. Kinda goes like this....

What does it do?

Makes it go faster!

Why?

Cause faster is better!

Why?

So I can get there quicker!

Why?

It goes on like this for hours. So far this has only cost a 'trade' of new dinning room furniture.

a computer mod. see this guy named maurice on the forum...

never mind. you start talking about the forum and all i hear is blah, blah blah.what's it do?

makes more power.

i thought you said you didn't need more power. you said you didn't know the difference since your car hadn't changed.

well sure i don't need it but it would be cool to bring the car back up to original spec.

so it makes it go faster?

yeah.

Why?

Cause faster is better!

Why?

So I can get there quicker!

wow, what a thread? the guy has put alot of time and effort into developing a great mod, so a 1mth wait or so is no big deal. If the card was charged, then you will get your product, bottom line. Hell I bought the stage one mod off him and I don't even have my 8 yet (delivery in 3wks !). God I have had a deposit on since July of last year, but kinda glad I didn't get the car yet, so I could have a latter build date.
I have been to CZ's house and seen the mods, and all the boxes, and it will be worth the wait.
Just relax ! the guy has a life other than this, so keep that in mind. This is just a side hobby that turned into much more.

I think those of use who followed the early posts about the testing and development and discussion developed great faith in Maurice's sincerity and credibility, and those who ordered early and have received product have had no reason to doubt a thing. Based entirely on the Forum discussion I would have sent a personal check without a second thought. Having ordered by credit card, you could challenge the charge if necessary -- but it won't come to that. I understand the impatience -- I wanted mine "yesterday" even though it's snowy and icy here so I mainly rev the engine in short satisfying bursts on dry portions and burn even more gas. I trust that the Fedex guy will settle this before too long.

mdw33333 - I ordered mine right around the same time you did, by the looks of it. I paid up-front via paypal on December 21st so I was out of pocket for the money as of that date.

I got an email from FedEx on the shipping bill being generated on 1/22 and it arrived on Friday 1/30 as indicated in the FedEx email.

So - based on my experience you could have a little more time coming up before you see it, but it will arrive. Like you're already doing, hang in there.

Simon.

Friggin' hilarious. Sounds like so many conversations I've had regarding both my Miata and RX8. The 8 has been much worse, because of this little chat we had right before I bought it...

"So if you buy this car with all the options, you're not going to be adding all the crap you did to your last car, right??"

"No, of course not honey. The RX8 is already the perfect car for me ; )"

Fast forward to me building the sub box this weekend...

"So- I thought this Bose stereo was supposed to be so great, and now you're putting what in your new car???"

"Uhh... bass honey. I need more bass. Now get your *** back in the kitchen and bake me a pie!"

: )

Cool Did you get one?

Wifey started the same line of questioning the other day, just after we filled up with gas -

Wifey - "So, are YOU getting one of those THINGS that Maurice is building?"

S - "Already did."

Wifey - "Did you put it in yet? The car doesn't seem to feel any different - what does it do?"

S - "This......"

Wifey - "You F##@#~~&&%$&$$"

Sorry Wifey,

S

This is pretty funny stuff. I didn't even tell my wife I ordered the RX-8. When it finally came in, I picked her up from work in it and took her out to dinner. Once she saw the car, how could she be mad?

Uh... If I tried that tactic I think I would still be sleeping in the car. My wife has put the x-nay on CZ's ECU upgrade until spring. I guess I really don't "neeeed" it so much until then but I sure want it now.
