True that is an option. Bottom line is I vowed never to put another cent into his pocket. If I can get it elsewhere then I am still interested

Is anybody able to post a screenshot of the flex fuel features and what kind of flex fuel sensor adjustments are in the tuning software?

I can grab the screenshots from WARI, no problem. they may already be in the thread. Not sure what happened with the videos… I guess Andy is moving them around or did something that caused their ids to be regenerated.

In any event, I'm not going to expend the energy to repoint them. I'm sure y'all can figure it out if you're that interested.

Looks like they got the idle control stuff sorted out.

What's the story on the apv? Does this need to be controlled by stock PCM? I saw someone mentioned rewiring of something.

Yeah I figured out that the software doesn't need an ECU plugged into the computer in order for me to poke around in it.

Also I have an E440 universal select wire in ECU that I am using for my build now.

New update to V12 software just came out.

V12.000 (2014-Apr-10)

Arbitrary RPM / load spacing on fuel / ignition maps
Variable injection timing
Various trigger modes (improved Nissan, Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan M35/VQ35, xJZGTE VVTI
Higher resolution flex fuel tuning
Faster communications
Higher resolution TPS and MAP for logging / display
Innovate SSI4 input, oil, fuel pressure monitoring and engine protection
Various improvements in transient throttle (open loop fuel during transition, disable pump on constant throttle, additional async when cold)
PLX wideband input, PLX gauge output
Motec PLM input
Direct mode Race Technology output (no need for ECU interface now)
Basemaps and pinouts for for RX7 plug-in ECUs
Improved large plenum charger mode for supercharged engines, smoothness / antiflare on throttle off / upshifts
Individual percentage point ignition cut mode for smoother traction control
Twin turbo control / precontrol output for twin turbo RX7
Injector characterisation built-in for Injector Dynamics injectors

"There have been about 4 different vehicle board designs for the RX8, and most of them are things to make them easier to assemble. But the most recent version (0.4) has jumpers on the board to connect the aux outputs 5 and 6 to the low and high speed thermofans. That's the only functional change. We don't have it listed by serial number; so the only real way to tell is to open the ECU and read the version number off the board. "0.4" is the latest but again, the only functional change is the aux outputs driving the thermofans."

I wonder if he means the radiator fans?

I really like that the new version has Injector characterization built-in for Injector Dynamics injectors. If I find I am running out of fuel with the blues in P2 It was my plan to replace them ID1000s.

The 10.x version of the firmware I'm running only does the ID characterization on the primaries. I haven't flashed the latest version yet but I doubt Andy coded it. Our last discussion on it made it sound difficult for him to do it.

Would it be possible to add the Injector Dynamics specific options for Secondary injectors too?

On my current setup I'm running stock 290cc injectors in my primaries and ID1000s in my secondaries.
I did look into this; it's very hard because of the way the calculation is done so I haven't done it yet. In particular it would be good on the RX8 because it's a fixed pressure fuel rail rather than manifold referenced.

The videos don't represent it that way at all. Just the opposite even. When I see something like this it makes me hesitant to think this it's integrated as they promote it to be. Even your own discoveries of various issues show that it's more a work in progress than a finished product. Nobody wants to buy version X today only to be left hanging when version Y comes out tomorrow. Manually entering the numbers is not a deal killer, but it's the lack of transparency on what the buyer is really getting into that's a concern.

Then there's the whole Turblown distribution/support issue too.

That is why I have been a bit hesitant too, I want to make sure it is at least mostly finished and tested before I pull the trigger. As for Turdblown, well luckily we can get the Adaptronic from rotorywerks, APU, Full Function, etc.

Turbosource/Turblown is the master US distributor. You may not buy it directly from them, but the other companies you listed do ....

the main supplier/supporter being persona non grata here is a big part of the problem ... you see time and time again that it's the #1 reason RX8 members here won't or don't buy the Adaptronic unit.

If you have any questions regarding the ECU feel free to shoot us a message! We sell quite a few of these units and work directly with Andy quite frequently.

We currently have 5 FD's at the shop that will be pushing over 550whp powered by the Adaptronic ECU. So far the unit has been huge upgrade over the old Power FC option on the 7 platform.

I think many people's main concern is where the adaptronic units are sourced. If they are sourced through Elliott White/Turblown/Turbosource or any other associates of his many of us would not be willing to order from you guys. More than a few RX8 guys are not a fan of him for valid reasons.

Well I cannot speak for Elliot or comment on his situation with the RX8 community. Although I do not quite understand how that would translate into not purchasing an Adaptronic ECU from us or other vendors.

I would hope that the community does not condemn an entire company and ECU over a relationship with one vendor. I hate that some have not ordered the ECU because of that reason. We do still sell quite a few of them and would like to help assist others in making the jump to Adaptronic.

Once again feel free to contact us anytime with questions or pricing
