Low volume

I performed this mod but the volume is very low. I have to turn my phone all the way up and the radio volume too.

Thoughts?

Completed this DIY and the temp potentiometer solder repair last Saturday. Couple hours of work... both worked like a charm. Heat & AC are functioning properly again, and no more commercial radio / DVDs... she's streaming MY favorite music flawlessly. Thanks for contributing to the RX8 community w/ the helpful DIY!

Completed this mod, works perfectly! This was on a BOSE 6-stacker unit.

Took little over an hour, made a silent audio CD with track name "AUX" :D

New Comer

Hello all,

I just got my very first Rx-8 (2005, Grand Touring). I noticed that I have an Auxiliary Cable (Belkin) in the cup holder area. However I would like to know if like to know if there's any way to figure out what's wrong with it. I have an HTC one M8 and I know the head phone jack works on it I have tried headphones. But when I connect it to the car and press the Tape/MD mode sometimes I can hear the faintest parts of song of my song at first. But then it completely cuts out and I cant hear anything. I cant figure it out for the life of me and being a first time owner after 2-3 weeks id like not to mess anything up.

If anyone has any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you!!!

I can't believe my site WhatsMyIP.org is still getting hits from this post every month. This is absolutely prehistoric my internet standards. Hopefully the new RX-9 has carplay support, so no hacks needed :D

HELP! Low Vol w/ Silent CD

After completing this tutorial and ensuring I did a good job soldering and routing the wire, I am having trouble with the silent CD. When using a normal CD the aux sounds good, but a bit of the original CD audio can be heard. With the silent CD, the audio from the aux is extremely quiet even on max volume. I even tried a 22khz audio clip on a CD, it worked but I was hoping the 22khz would be too high for the speakers to output, it was not . So my question is how did others address this issue, and if they solved it by "using the right silent audio track," can someone please link me to it. Thanks and any insight is appreciated

EDIT: I have an 04 RX8 with a single CD player

How did you make it so high it is inaudible, CDs are sampled at 44.1kHz so they have a max freq of 22.05kHz, which the cars speakers can produce and is audible.

I ended up experimenting and doing some research and was able to come up with my own "silent CD". What worked best was using Audacity to Generate a 1h15m 1Hz sine wave that has an amplitude of 0.1. I changed the gain down to the absolute lowest it could go and exported it as a WAV file. Once burned to a CD it is "silent" and allows for loud and clear audio from AUX. Also I lost the ******* 10mm bolt .

Hello guys,

First I want to tank you all for all the DIY tutorials.
I wasn't able to do this tutorial to my car because I have a broken CD player, so I come out with a good solution multiplexing the radio module output using a 5pin 3.5mm female, so when I connect a cable it disconnects the radio and play my music, and when I remove the cable it plays the radio.
if anybody wants to make a tutorial showing how to do do that I will be very happy to help.

Thank you all!
