DIY: Audio/Video for RX-8 using Nav screen
I just installed video inputs (DVD, TV, etc.) to my factory Nav screen and extra audio inputs.
The whole thing is on my website at http://www.bobclevenger.com/RX-8_AV_project_page_1.htm
I've just finished the pages, so there are liable to be some typos; please let me know if you find any or if something isn't clear.

hey bob.. why dont you use the secondary input on your ME3 ?
put your Mp3 player in the 2nd dvd input then you can use the dvd 's built in EQ on your lcd screen to eq your mp3s :D

I just checked it out. My DVD-ME3 won't accept audio-only inputs. It needs a video signal to activate the input (either 2nd or 3rd). And I can't fool it by returning the video out back to the AV1 in. I'm wondering if I can use one of the RGBs lines from the nav unit to make the ME3 think there is a video signal there???
Hmm, just had an idea (mark your calendar, it's a rare event :D ). When I get a rear-view camera I can wire it into both the auxiliary inputs in parallel and the ME3 ought to be happy.
