This is what fixed my EPS

Simply buy a can of electrical contact cleaner, can be found anywhere. Picked mine up at a home depot for $3.

Pop your hood.

Lift up the air intake box. (just hold it up out of your way)

Remove the 4 bolts holding the tray below the air intake box.

Lift the tray back revealing 2 big connectors (in the middle of the electric fans).

Simply unhook connectors and spray into them, shake out loose liquid let air dry for a short period. (maybe 30 secs to 1 min).

Reconnect, then put back in reverse order. (fixed my power steering) (I hope this can fix yours)

Hello....what makes you think this is new news?
First off they aren't sensors, they are connectors and this problem/fix has been around for years!
The connections get cruddy due to moisture and/or coolant coming out of the overflow tube.
If you had searched, you would've found that out.

Most of us in the know(so to speak) have extended that overflow tube down below those connectors.
Oh........and I do hope it works for you(the cleaning), sometimes it doesn't and people have either hard wire around the connectors or get a new harness.

cleaning the contacts has worked for some people, and only been a temporary fix for others. This thread goes into detail about other fixes to try.

Hoping someone can provide some help with my '04 RX-8 -- about 5 months ago, my steering began making a loud clunking noise when I turned the wheel ONLY TO THE LEFT. The first clunking noise begins with the first half turn of the wheel and happens every quarter turn after that. The noise of the 'clunk' is prolongued the slower I turn the wheel.. and again, it is happening ONLY when I turn the wheel to the left. I took the car to a Mazda dealer (this was 5 months ago)... a mechanic drove it... was not able to get me in for an appointment... and told me he didn't know where it was originating.
The odd part here is.... the day after the mechanic visit... the noise completely vanished... and has re-appeared... even louder... a few days ago.. after a 5 month absence.
I've taken it to a steering specialist that was not too experienced with RX-8s and he told me the noise was a mistery to him.... but if he had to guess, he would blame it on the rack&pinion.
Again.. the noise is fairly loud and I can feel it in my hands as I'm turning the wheel... but it is ONLY happening when the car is running. I've had the car up on a hoist turned off and it was not making any sort of a noise when the wheel was turned without power. The tie rods looked good, as did the bushings.

Being the expensive price tag of a new rack.. I don't want to dive into a quick purchase. I've read some suggestions regarding the dirty PS plugs... would cleaning these be the first suggestion?? I would appreciate any help you guys can provide, thank you.

Have an 04 and replaced everything like this but it won’t start or turn over at all? What could cause this and how could I fix this ?

^ This. Cleaning just the two connectors under/near the airbox didn't fully fix my problem (though it helped.) The plugs weren't that dirty looking. However, the connector on the rack itself (I believe it's for the torque sensor, could be wrong) definitely was dirty. I'd clean every plug/connector in the PS system, not just the two mentioned here. Imho, the two listed are the most difficult to get to, so if you are already in there, take the time to get the other ones to ensure a full attempt at cleaning all the connectors (though the one on the rack has a ziptie, I believe from factory, that can be a pain to deal with.)

What's you're deal bruh you have an attitude for no reason first off the person who wrote the post on what they did to fix their current issue doesn't need a clown posting a stupid comment and second of all you need to go back and read the message no where in that whole post did they say sensor they said connectors you should learn not to be a jackass
