AC-condenser core spacer

I thought some might want to see how to space the AC condenser core from the radiator.

The spacer, bolt and washers were about two dollars....

What would be the point of doing this?

I'm also curious as to why this would be necessary. I would think it increases flow through the radiator, while decreasing flow through the condenser. While letting the radiator get air that's very slightly cooler than it would otherwise be.

Wouldn't the AC have some issues when standing still? At that point the fans are normally the only thing keeping it cool, and if the fan can't do is job, what's the point?

It will do nothing. There is a reason coolers stacked right against each other on heavy equipment. If it has to be in close confines like it does in the 8 then stacked is the way go, having an inch of separation won't do anything. Moving the condenser to a whole other location like others have done does make sense. I can't recall the screen name but a guy in NZ did that.
