Do SR have good intakes?
I'm trying to decide what kind of intake i should get. SR Motorsports Ram-Air Cold Air Intake seems pretty good and im thinking about on getting them. before i buy it I was wondering if anybody had the same thing and could give me some infos about them. r they worth the money? Thanks!
Search around the forums for the AEM intake and the Racing beat one
Stock is more than enough anyway

Injen short ram is the best by far. With 21+ hp increase its worth ur money and on top of the sound it makes is insane
u sir have got to be fisting me there is no way in hell the injen short ram makes 21+ hp on an rx8! the max any intake could make on an 8 would be maybe 5 hp at the most! u need to give your head a shake!

I don't understand how you could believe that marketing BS. Your 350 miles away from Injen, so I guess you don't work for them.

I have thought about the SR intake as well but I have heard a few bad things about SR so im not so sure. Im still hung up on which intake I want to put on my 8 as well. Im not looking for any "major" gains because it's not possible on the 8, but something a little better would be nice, and I would like to make a little more room in the engine bay. I do plan on getting the RB revi ram air duct for whatever intake I decide to go with, even if I decide to stay with the stock box
Any intake available for the RX-8 will NOT give you a 21whp increase, even with a tune it's just not gonna happen.
He is serious.... he is just not aware of the well-designed aspects of the factory intake system. Unless an intake manufacturer can demonstrate lower intake temps or higher mass-airflow readings (while using a properly sized intake pipe for the sensor), any data is simply marketing nonsense.

One nice thing about the SR is that it continues to draw air from outside the engine bay. (As does the stock and Racing Beat). Any setup taking air from under the hood is likely to lose power in the real street world vs on a dyno with the hood open. Other setups run the intake tube outside sticking the filter out front where it's vulnerable to water soaking. There's no cheap hp gains to be had with this engine.
