Side Exhaust System Question

I have been looking around for exhaust systems for my car. i have done some searches but I can't find what I am looking for. I was talking to one of my friends about exhaust systems for my car and he said that I should go with the exhausts that the race teams use. I found these pictures and the exhaust comes out the side below the "mazda" on the passenger side. I am assuming that this is a custom exhaust but I didn't know if any of you knew if they did sell this exhaust sytem.

Well I knew it was a race car but I just wasn't sure if there was a street model exhaust like that for sale on the market. There is a guy in town that said he would make me a custom exhaust system like that for my car but I am not to sure if I want to do that or just go and buy an exhaust system.

You may want to consider the racing beat reflash to lean out the top end fuel mix so you dont burn your doors.

Sorry I am new to the whole car thing. Can you post a pic of how it looks or a link to where you bought yours at? How loud is it? I drive back to PA sometimes to see my family and its a 9 hour drive. Does it sound like a "bumblebee" or what?

Speed bumps might be a problem too. Years ago, I think Borla made something like this for Mustangs and it actually sounded pretty cool. Almost NASCARish at full throttle on the banking kind of sound!

Be aware that this exhaust can burn the exhaust shrouds if used with the stock CAT. http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=4666856
Here is a video with sound I did earlier, http://videos.streetfire.net/video/7...7100921264.htm
This system is very loud with the race pipe installed. Even so it is a very nice system at a bargain price.

Ground clearance is not an issue with the TurboXS exhaust unless you are lowered.

I dont know the last time you looked under an RX8, but there is no room for a side exhaust without major body modification.

That, and why would you want an exhaust that is crafted purely for light weight?

You know that with those side exhausts the exhaust is going to come into your car every time you are at a stop.

On a street car, its just a waste of money because I guarantee you are going to replace it after your first few choking sessions in traffic or after a few noise violation tickets.

I would only consider this mod on a dedicated race car that has had everything else stripped and lightened.

Yes I do, well the ones that came on the car. If I was to do this its almost like I would have to cut a hole in the side of skirt for the exhaust to come thru.
