NY RB Header Installer?

I wanted to know if anyone knew how to (i would pay you) or knows a shop that can do it for me and how much would it cost to get installed. I want it done right and by someone who knows what they are doing instead of taking my 8 to any shop and getting a 2nd rate job.

Im in the Manhattan Area but willing to travel!

Nice so the install price is around $300. Where you live and where did you get it installed at? Just a normal car shop?

how do you like your Header so far? any noticeable differences? I'm thinking of buying one of those header too.

there is a Exotic Speed Race Header for 700 only 30 pounds, how many pounds for the RB Header ?

It's easy if you have a lift. I replaced my gasket when I did mine, but you should be able to reuse the OE gasket. If you plan on doing a secondary air pump delete, get the blocking plate and put it on the header first. Also, if you had the new motor mount TSB done, you will need to cut part of the new heat shield away.

No TSB done, No secondary air pump delete and i just want the Header installed and thats it.

Anyone around here got a small shop with a lift on it that can do it for me? Or knows a good shop that will do it? Dang i just need a local shop lol

Oh and lancer don't get the exotic speed header the RB is just as good and its cheaper.

Here is a video of Luckycat's RX8 ( i got my header from him since hes going TURBO)

It isn't that hard to do yourself (on jackstands even, no lifted required). You can get it done in a few hours even if you don't know what you're doing.

It's hard to tell how the header changes the sound because of the other variables in the mix (CAI, mid-pipe and Catback). Anyone that has one, how has it changed the sound of your car? Louder? Changed the character of the sound? Any before and after vids?

It gives it a nice "hollower" sound to it. It didn't get any louder for me but I was catless before and after. I noticed more low end grunt between 4-5k mainly. Couldn't tell too much in the 8-9k range. Hope you enjoy it once it's on, I enjoy mine

The question is why would anyone buy that when he can get the RB for cheaper? They are the same exact thing aren't they? Well if he wants to spend 700 on it then ok.

because its rb is not "exotic?"

the re-amemiya header costs a ridiculous amount. imo, all the headers are copies of each other. they all look the same.

the only header that looks different is the one teamrx8 built himself... and he put down 224whp.... and it weighs 8lbs.

Yea i checked out the re-amemiya and it was like 1500....I found the exoticspeed and was going to buy it before i saw the RB header -- Your right they all look exactly the same so i dont know why anyone would spend more.

+ Those 1 offs are pretty hard to come by cause i don't think teamrx8 is going to be making anymore and if he sold it -- he would most likely charge something crazy for it.

Post up in the for sale section, thats how i got mine....I got it for cheap too cause it was used -- other people selling it brand new cause they don't know or don't wanna waste money installing it.

I'm going to get mine install by GAMBEAN, I hope he can install it for me then i will be SUPER happy!

Although I never install a header before, Im 99.99% sure that you dont need a lift to install it. Hell I mean you dont even need a lift to replace an engine, so why a header ?

I have tools and everything so ...

Ahh, just notice that GAMBEAN is here maybe I should stop by to see how sweet its going to be ...

Its not hard... just gotta remove the RF wheel, Support the engine, take out the RF engine mount and remove the old header bolts. Then reverse the order to get it on. The hardest part is the EGR tube but its not too bad. Goodluck
