Noob who wants to supercharge

I get owned by family sedans on a daily basis (well now I also have a G37 so not anymore). That is a exaggeration but I drive a 2006 AT RX8. 04s and such are rated at 7.5seconds to go from 0 to 60 but I am sure this 6spd is not too far from that number.

I have no idea how to install a supercharger nor which one is best for a AT RX8.

What I really want is some low-end torque. I hate seeing normal sedans keep up with me until I get past that 3-4k rpm.

Of course, if this significantly hurts the horrible MPG then I guess I should stray from this. Or another reason is if the improvements aren't worth it.

I see some people got the Pettit supercharger installed on their AT rx8. The question is...is there someone around the Tri-State area that can install this for me.

THanks in advanced. I see the search button up there.

I would suggest you read the pettit sub forum and start talking to the guys there. Most people who have gone SC'd like it alot. Everything you've asked is answered there and the SC guys will be happy to answer any other questions you have as well.

He is a god, how could he be wrong?

But on a serious note, the kit looks amazing and I can't wait to install mine once it's ready.

Also, no other FI company has spent more track/road time perfecting their RX-8 FI parts than Hymee has.

I understand and respect that.

I guess everyone will be hearing from me whether everything goes perfectly, or not.

I personally trust Mark, he's a great guy and has never been slow to respond to any questions I've had (even though there's a 17 hour time difference).

Time will tell!!

Nothing wrong with Marks set up---looks clean and I like the way Mark handles the forum. Seems like a stand up guy.
Pettit Mafia? Have I missed something?

In answer to your two main questions:
CRH installed my Pettit s/c and I have never had a problem related with the install in my car. If you look in his block you will see "have tools will travel" and he will.

You will gain low end speed (can't call it torque cuz that would start an flaming war). Now you say you want speed and no gas mileage reduction??? Buy a bicycle!!!! Ain't gonna happen with FI on this vehicle. Oh yes, mine is an at also.

OD is right, might not be perfect but show me what is. Hell I was #3 Pettit install, first not installed at his shop and I'm counting the test vehicle. Pettit Mafia? The majority of the Pettit owners are very protective and proud of what they have (as am I) and sometimes get a little carried away as do the dissenters.

The DE NJ NY PA MD(I guess thats pentstate) have 3 Pettit SC'd 3-4 more in the works(whispers out of fear of vanishing in thin air) cars with aggreable owners whom any of which would be more than glad to take you for a ride

Ray do you need a group hug again...
