I know we have all seen these before but I really happy with my new purchase and just thought I'd share a pic. I may eventually change the clear lines to braided lines. I won it off ebay for less than $85 shipped. I don't care what anyone says but ebay has some really good deals if you watch for them.

 

sweet . I just ordered one also after sucking oil into the intake .

Get rid of that big *** battery - I have a lead acid 1/2 that size & weight and she still starts just fine .

 

What type and where did you get your battery?

 

Just got mine from a local auto parts store - get the smallest highest quality automotive battery you can find with the right post size. Mine is only 430amphrs cranking but it seems to be fine.
some guys are going to dry cell which are lighter but expensive . Mine was a cheap mod to get rid of 15 lbs from a spot where weight should be as low as poss.

I got them from a local speed shop. Gotta see some of the rides they have parked out in front. Ppl around here say the blue vette they park out front has twin turbos.....I know it looks nice. They are not the ebay or summit racing crap. These are aircraft fuel/oil lines. I removed the summit lines cause these are much nicer....the weave is much much tighter than any braided lines I have seen. They are kinda expensive depending on the size you want. I have more but have not installed them yet. I can always get them for you.

I will post a close up pic later today so you can see the difference I'm talking about.

oh I just got my Greddy bottle. trying to find a spot to install it ... Are you catching any oil ?

 

Also, what are you using as a medium in the catch can?

 

I think I paid about $6 - $7 per foot.

Haven't check to see if any oil is in there yet. I will check when I change my oil this weekend.

I added a pic of the summit hose (top) I was using and the new aircraft fuel/oil line hose (bottom) I'm currently using. The bottom hose is a much better hose by far.

 

Nothing...as far as I know the can was empty when I bought it and I never opened it to see if there was anything inside.

 

I believe if you actually want to catch any oil in there, and for it to stay in there, you need something in it. Maybe some steel wool...

 

I've never had a problem catching oil in an empty can before. When I used to have a supercharged 02 civic si it was never a problem....had a small amount of oil in the can each time I changed my oil.

 

Hmm... then nevermind. That's what alot of the Subaru guys told me when I had my WRX... so I figured that's what it called for. Oh well... I guess it's a Suby thing.

 

Forgot to ask you, what size is your braided hose ? 9mm or ?

 

you can, but it's not required. I have the larger greddy oil catch can, and there's no way that I can see to add steel wool into it.

 

I have three different sizes. I think they are 7/16 (vac line on top of mani), 3/8 (for master cyclinder & coolant tank) and 1/2 (not installed yet).
