Mazdaspeed vs Racing Beat Sway Bars

Hi everybody, I am looking for a way to reduce body roll and I have decided to install an after market sway bar.

First let me introduce my car which is ofcourse an RX-8 low power 192ps with 5speed manual gearbox. My suspension is the standard one and not the sport that the RX-8 231 uses. Additionally, my car has exactly the same suspension as an RX-8 automatic in US (for those that do not know the standard set up suspension).

My questions are the following:

1) Is it appropriate for my standard set up suspension to install an after market sway bar? Or an aftermarket sway bar will not work so well with my standard suspension?

2) If it is ok for my car to install an after market sway bar, which sway bar should I install? Mazdaspeed or Racing Beat? In those two cases should I change my end links also or my stock endlinks are ok?

Keep in mind that I want to reduce body roll without affecting so much the stock behavior of my suspension

Thanks guys
Costas

if you plan on keeping the springs and shocks stock, i'd go with the racing beat. and i'd do the RB endlinks up front.

The RB is a little stiffer on the sways, the MS is lighter on the sways and stiffer on the shocks and springs.

Does anybody know what is the automatic RX-8 sway bars diameter? (front and rear). I know that the sport tuned suspension has front sway diameter 27 and rear diameter 16

I am trying to locate what is the difference in sport and normal suspension sway bars and buy either the sport suspension sway bars or an aftermarket ones. Always having in mind that I have automatic normal suspension.

I think the only different is on the spring, I use racing beat sway, and they are 300% better then stock. after install the car have better steering, quicker turn in, and a lot less body lean. Racing beat come with the sway bar bracket and everything, so it is better then other brand.

You mean that normal suspension does not differ from sport suspension in sway bars?

I think that this is not correct because in parts catalogue normal sway bars have different part number than sport sway bars. So I guess that normal suspension (automatic RX-8) is a little bit thiner than sport suspension. Does anybody know what is the difference in size between normal and sport sway bars?

Despite the fact that RB front sway bars can be installed with stock endlinks I think that in the near future you may have problems. As a result you should install the RB endlinks and I do no want to drill my suspension a bigger hole. what if you decide to install the stock endlinks afterwards ?

if not just get the sway bar, and leave the end links stock. many people use stock end links without any problem.

I know that the sport sways are slightly thicker than the normal suspension sways, but I don't know by how much. What I do know is that I upgraded to RB sways with RB endlinks (from the stock sport suspension) and the improvement in handling is huge. With the RB endlinks you will need to drill larger holes, and you can't use the stock endlinks anymore, so think carefully about your decision. Personally for me, I wanted piece of mind so I went with the upgraded endlinks and they have given me no trouble so far. Definitely do not get the MS sway bars if you're going to keep your shocks/springs stock. They are only a little stiffer than the stock sport suspension and won't have a noticeable difference. Sways are usually meant to fine tune the balance after shocks and springs, and the MS sways compliment the MS shocks and springs. RB's sways were quite good by themselves, but now it's even better with the recent installation of my RB springs and Tokico D-spec shocks

To the OP, how do you know you have the standard suspension and not the sport suspension. I'm curious myself if I've got standard or sport...
