tightnen it up against the brake cylinder. The whole idea is that when you brake heavily, your firewall can flex. With the brace, the force applied to the firewall when braking heavily is transfered to the tower brace giving a more solid feel to the brake pedal.

Since this thread has come back to life (slightly hahaha) I thought I'd ask a question.
I've seen two different types of MS front strut bars. One with a mazdaspeed logo and one with and rx8 logo. Are they actually different or is there somewhere to get the different decal?
The reason I ask is that I just got one that's in pretty good shape but the mazdaspeed sticker is a little worn and peeling up. Is that decal replaceable?
