FL MAF wire gauge

Alright so after scouring the internet at work I have yet to come up with a reliable answer to the question, what is the gauge or wire for the maf sensor? I am planning on extending the short ram intake I have now into a CAI but I want to keep the MAF right behind the air filter so it does not get turbulent air. (turbulent air across maf=rough idle) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, or if you know of a way to completely bypass the MAF I would be forever in your debt.

I do not think you have to worry about gauge, I'm quite sure current is minimal. Focus on reliability= soft high flex wires, silicone insulation can take all the heat you need and more.

Use one of the screens that the stock system uses, right before your MAF.

They introduce a calibrated amount of turbulence for (counterintuitively!) more accurate readings.

Plenty of owners have scrapped their airbox, only to find the MAF readings varying wildly, and fixed it with a stock screen......

Thanks for your help guys, I didnt even think about putting a screen in. Lucky I kept the old airbox.

Without it, it'll stall at idle and run strangely at a cruise.

Like I said in the original post I have a SRI on it now and had no issues once I put the MAF right behind the filter, (before i put it behind the filter I had a really rough idle and the engine was running super rich e.g. 8 miles to the gallon) but I suppose the filter would sort of act like the screen in the factory airbox. But now that I'm extending the intake I dont want to put the sensor down a few inches off the ground, therefor I will try the screen idea. Y'all think I should start a build thread on this?
