At some point on my journey to the dragon the other week, i developed a leak in my front right TPMS sensor. it's very slow, and it will only leak when the wheel is cold. I took it down to tire kingdom, since I originally thought it was a leaking plug in the tire but they traced it to the valve stem. they said the pin inside was loose and leaking air, and that they tightened it, but it's still leaking. he said when stiff sidewall tires are installed (like my ps2 xl's) they often remove the pin inside completely to set the bead..anyone know if i can fix this myself, i don't feel like driving down there today.

I have the same problem with my wheel before, they didnt say anything about the tpms but it was something about the valve stem was loose.

They fixed it (tighten it) and its all fine now.(2 months) Maybe is the shop ?

Hey i have had hell with these sensors, there is a o-ring on the in the inside that gets a little tear in it sometimes, you can buy them at a dealer and have a good shop put them on, that is the only thing that fixed mine.

Try replacing the valve stem core before going crazy. My tires were losing 1/2 lb per week right out of the factory. Replaced all the valve stem cores and they haven't lost an ounce ever since.

I got the same problem.. I have my front driver side a SSR GT7 that leaks from the valve. I gotta fill it every morning as it loses about 3-4 PSI.

I bought 7 of these built with tire and sensor from Tire Rack in an effort to get 4 non leaking ones. Each time I received a faulty build. After numerous returns, I just gave up and kept the least leaky one. SAD.

I'd like to know how to fix it but the shops I go to wont touch it.

the valve stem core...that's what he said it was. i couldnt put my finger on it exactly...how do i go about replacing those?

$1.14 and the problem is solved! I really think they pinpoint the problem at the tire place but just forgot to tighten it. i bought a tool from auto zone and tightened it down...hopefully that fixes it.

Before valve stem caps were plastic they were metal and they all had core removers on them. You made a valve stem tool by crimping a valve stem cap onto an old valve stem. Now you have to buy them. Also called shrader valve tool.

it's a valve tool. i tried to shove a pair of needle nose pliers in there to tighten it, but they weren't small enough. Pretty much the little pin in the valve is mounted to an assembly that screwes into the outer part of the valve. it has two little notches in it that allow you to turn the core with the right tool.
