there is a thread on the new Racing Beat intake system. i wouldn't go with the typhoon kit. i've seen some installed, and it doesn't look very good. Racing Beat also offers the drop in filter element if the intake system is too pricey. www.racingbeat.com

Welcome to the board. The K&N Typhoon system has been widely discredited here, giving dynoes of high end gain at the expense of midrange, or even NEGATIVE hp !. The drop in was dynoed as well, and it was about <1hp. Good luck. I would stay away from the typhoon unit & either look at the Racing Beat unit, or the Rotary Extreme, maybe the upcoming (not out yet) AEM. Both will give about 2-4 hp max.

Faman is right about the K&N horsepower claims , I have the Typhoon and can detect NO hp increase on my butt dyno , That being said, I am glad that I installed it for the sound it gives the engine , really brings the unique rotary sound back from the stock silence. Easy on the gas no difference , hard on throttle throaty with a great wind up !
I am more than happy with my purchase!
