I'll try to explain it in better terms. What you are talking about is the specific torque of the engine and Its not about that. Its about inertia, impact and harmonic motion. The rx-8 only has 159ftlb of tq but if you rev the engine and let the clutch out or if you simply get off the throttle and suddenly back on, the actual tq reading the drivetrain/chassis feels is easily double what the engine has for an instant. Its not about handling the actual engine torque, its called a torque damper because it acts in the tq axis, its just a damper for vibration, impact and harmonic motion, it will not help the car handle any sustained tq, stock or higher but simply smoothes out transitions.

Best regards,

Chris

So what is the net of this, just good for track unless you want to introduce a bunch of vibration as a DD?

Charles R. Hill can get it, and he's got better customer service than anyone.

HOW MUCH? is it worth it? Do you notice a difference in acceleration like they say?

So...8 years later...what's the verdict? Is there any benefit to putting this on an otherwise-stock engine?

At 294ft/lbs torque I say the only reason besides fun factor/aesthetics that I have mine was to counter a failing passenger side motor mount.

But fun factor/aesthetics wins
