I'm ready to buy but still can't choose which exhaust.

Yes, I've used the search button and read the threads but I'm still not sure which system I should pull the trigger on.

The choice has been narrowed to B&B or RX8store. The others have been disqualified for various reasons.

So, if it was your money which of the 2 would you buy and why?

Thanks!

Why did you disqualify Borla? I have not bought an exhaust but im leaning toward the Borla all have the same rough Hp gains like 2-3 HP its all a matter of look and sound, and to me the most throaty deep low sound is coming from the borla. also to me i want deeper sound but not to the expense where i cant hear my radio

The weird bends bug me. How are you basing the sound? Have you heard any in person?

Why are you leaning towards those that you are, and why have you disqualified the others.

Right now I'm stuck between Borla, Greddy, and RX8Store.
The Greddy tips are too big IMO. Most of the others didn't seem worth the price.

You have to wonder what Racing Beat is going to offer their new system at. Should be out any day and the preproduction pictures sure look nice. That said, B&B, Rotary Extreme, RX8 Store and Borla, based on the web clips, all sound very similar. Until you yank the CAT, then get out your ear plugs!

I bought the RX-8 store exhaust. I did not like the single can of the Borla or the B&B. I liked the Y flow connector of the RX-8,
Greddy and JIC. Before I bought, had only heard the Greddy,
JIC and pre-production Racing Beat. The Greddy tips were too big
for me. Others were out of my price bracket. Am happy with the RX-8 store unit. Good weld quality and the best looking tips IMO.
This exhaust sounds sweet and is the loudest one I have heard.
Does not have any drone and is not obtrusive while cruising.
You know its there under acceleration and under load going up grades.
Had a Magnaflow cat-back on my 95 Mustang Cobra and to me
it was the best sounding exhaust on that car. I liked the idea that
RX-8 Store was using Magnaflow mufflers. They never changed tone on the Cobra in the five years I had them on the car.

I talked with Racing Beat yesterday and was told that their exhaust should be out in the next month.

Jason,

Any input on the sound and loudness of the systems you sell?

I have only heard the Borla and RX8store. Hard to tell much of a difference.
I dont think you will notice much of a difference between the exhausts until you remove the cat and install a midpipe.

I went to D1 in Irwindale and saw Huff's rx8 with vividracing.com and heard his B&B exhaust. He said the B&B dyno'd at 19 hp gain, but it was a little louder then I wanted. I have my borla in the mail and I think I remember someone saying it dyno'd at 11hp gain. I guess I chose sound over performance...but huff is a cool guy with a cool ride.

I thought the 19hp gain was with the mid pipe and cat back? If he was running the mid pipe then that would make it a lot louder.

Well, I decided. I bought the RX8store system and should have it in a few days.

Hey Jason, I asked for you but you were out on a delivery. Look up the order for Keith K and make sure you get credit for the sale!

Thanks for the help.

I'm sure its without the midpipe because huff didn't mention it. In modified magazine with the 3 rotor rx8 they have an advertisement that also claims the 19hp gain. The exhaust sounded loud but in a good way. I kind of want to go the sleeper rx8 way.

From Vivid's wesite...

"This exhaust made 12 wheel horsepower as seen in the DYNO results. With the optional RACE PIPES you will gain another 5 hp about for an awesome about of 17 wheel horserpower! "

Well, one thin is for sure: that is a real dyno plot!
Even has the "artifacts" at 6200 and 7400 that most of the other plots I've seen are missing.
This is obviously in a car that is in need of an E-Manage or Canzoomer box!

Well if this helps i just got borla exhaust, VERY HAPPY WITH IT!
has nice curves and i think 3'piping
the sound it very very addicting makes me rev more to hear the growl noise it has, a muscle car with alittle of the ricey sound (doesnt bother me)
for me the choice was purely sound proformance

the day i got to test it out i was in the parking lot with my friends
some rice rocket team full of Civics and hatchbacks reved up to me with their HIGH PITCHED noise very funny and annoying ,so i reved back with a loud growl and they never reved back again
very happy with borla but its your money

I am familiar with both of them and i would choose RX8 Store because i know all the products they make are superior to others and that is where i plan on buying some of my aftermarket accesories....i plan on getting the Greddy SP2 system though, unless someone gives me a good reason not to go with it.

I recently saw the Borla (at Mazdatrix). I gotta tell you, the Greddy's must look HUGE. Even though I haven't seen them, I thought the Borla's were about as big as I would have the tips be.

That is the smartest buying decision I have ever heard anyone make in regards to performance parts. Good for you!

I'm also in agreement with God of Thunder; that's why (except for the intake) all my modifications are going to be Mazdaspeed.
