HKS Twinpower rebuild?

Recently bought a used Twinpower unit. Turns out it has a "grounding" issue. Not sure if its the harness but I think the issue is with the unit itself. I plugged everything up and grounded the ground wire to the ground on the LIM. When I fired up my 8 it ran horrible and smelled of fuel. I shut it off immediately and uninstalled the Twinpower. I noticed while the car was running the red light on the TP unit wasn't lit. Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a rebuild or should I just junk the unit and get a replacement. The harness looks fine and the wire color coding looks appropriately wired according to the writeup instructions here.

Wouldnt it be better to just go to a cobb ap with BHR coils or something like that?? same thing kinda if you set the cobb for the coil system right? or am I missing something with the HKS Twin Power???

Lol. thought so.. I was talking to a guy who has an RX8 and he said he put on the cobb AP with some BHR Coils and also had the HKS Twin Power etc..... I thought to myself that it was kinda redundant and forgot about it until i saw this post... So I just wanted to ask so it adds up to what I was seeing in my head movies...

Kinda what I figured.. Guess it makes a cool looking paper weight now tho. Can't complain. I got it dirt cheap.
