One Gasket and the 2 screws are for the muffler to pipe connection. The other gasket is extra. On the end that connects to the CAT pipe you re-use the OEM gasket & nuts/ bolts.

Have fun I have the SP2 also

i believe that the exhaust is in 2 pieces. the muffler section, and the pipe between the cat and the muffler section. one gasket should go between the cat and the pipe, and one between the pipe and the muffler section. the bolts and nuts will connect the pipe and the muffler section together, and you should reuse the factory bolts to connect between the pipe and the cat.

Hey guys,

Well i just joined in the forum after installing my sp2 and read about the gasket, ive noticed there was a smooth side and a rough side on it so i thought both smooth side goes together and rough side on the piping, which basically i installed both gasket is this wrong ? i mean does running with both gasket can cause any problem ?

Cheers to all Rx8 owners :D

I also have the SP2. Im not sure if if installing both gaskets will cause a problem, you are the first I have heard to actually do that. Turn the car on and see if you can hear an exhuast leak around the gaskets. Otherwise, I guess it should be fine.
