S-AFC II Air Flow Converter Installed

Acosta Racing installed a S-AFC II Air controller. Not many installs, A'PEXi, the makers have asked Acosta for the wiring diragram. I am interested if anyone could convert their Canzoomer info into air correction factor data. This unit is capable of adding or deleting fuel at preset RPM levels. Similar to a VTEC controller for those past hoda people. I have set the fuel level to -2 from 5-8k RPM to lean out. If there was a way for someone to send me this type of info from the canzoomer maps I would appreciate it.

Did you just guess when you changed your fuel map or did you tune on a dyno? What kind of gains did you get? This is the first I've heard of using an S-AFC on an 8.

the most you can get from that is like 8 hp according to marcos or what ever his name is i had my car there too , i was going to have that installed but he told me he had to cut the eco wires.so that stop me from doing that. it not worth to cut the wires for an 8 hp increase.by the way how did you like the work they did for you???

I have basicly made some practical decisions on knowing that increased HP gains were seen for the canzoomer unit over 5k. Since it is common knowlege that the ECU has the fuel still rich after M flash, I moderately leaned the fuel between 5-8k RPM. I plan on getting an AEM air/fuel gage (both digital and analog) and having Acosta Racing install for me. I may have them tune as well depending on the charge. I have met Marcos, he had given me a tour or their speed shop including their 3 rotor RX-8 as well as their soon to be released RX-8 turbo (~ 100 hp gain, not cheap though). Regardless of some negative posts, they have enormous amount of rotory experience, even confirmed by 2 Mazda techs, one of the best rotory tuners on the east coast.

BTW, I'm pretty sure the reason for the small gains from this device has to do with the 8's computer re-adjusting the mixture (Adding more fuel) to meet the air/fuel requirements desired at the O2 sensor.

IE, the AFC Lean's the mixture by a few fractions and the computer reads the improper mix at the sensor and tries to richen things back up in an effort to stay along the guidelines of the previous flash.

if i were you i would not waste my time haveing them tune your canzoomer he told me when i brang my car that he new how to tune them. after MORE THEN week of my car sitting there he tells me the unit is not working .shipped it to canada overnight maurice from canzoomer checks everything the unit is working perfect.
back to him it goes trys tuning but he kept telling me that the canzoomer is junk and they do not work. well to make a long story short i left with a 750.00 $$ bill for a set of springs and trying to tune the unit the worse part is he was trying to tune it at IDLE !!!

Something is seriously wrong with your tuner if he can't tell if the canzoomer is adjusting your AFR.
