Getting to the Air Filter??

I wanted to see what was going on in there, air intake wise, so I looked at the manual (unhook a wire, release two snaps, then open) , and did what it said, but the air filter housing just doesn't seem to budge. I can get it only open about a inch! Ceratinly it doen't just come off in your hands easily. Anyone done it? What is the trick?

It looks like there is a whole bunch of wires and tubes and of course the big flexible pipe so it resists being open as the manual states.

hehehehehehe, I took all the plastic covers off but that one, couldn't figure it out!

Although it didn't occur to me to look in the manual, and I didn't try very hard, just released the clips and yeah, seems tough. At least my air filter is covered with this new "plan"

Hey I wonder if they cover, flush coolant too. I guess they would have too, COOL!

Nope, were talking the engine air filter, up front, just right of centerline when you open the hood.

Pic has cover next to bumper removed showing some intake air split/valve assembly with flex air tube going to left. But it is the big black cover with snaps there at the top that I can't get off.

need to loosen up the hose going to the box and then put a little muscle into the pull and off it will come, a performance shop took mine out last week to fabricate an air intake pipe and filter. Should be ready Monday, can't wait to see how it feels.
