EXEDY has been racing for nearly decades in Japan. Have sold world wide. Japanese use that in their cars for a long time.

Good single clutch there. I am not sure they have flywheel for the 8

Great clutch, but complete overkill for the RX-8

Nice. I don't think they are overkill. Single clutch is ok. Double carbon clutch maybe an overkill.

If you turbo then yes. If you change the flywheel, it is also advised by many tuners advise to change the clutch too.

sm,

Racing clutch may kill the driviability in congested traffic.

It is hard to ride the clutch at slow speed. You may stall a lot of time.

That is all.

Ask them what they think of it for city driving. They should be able to answer you.

In Japan, they only have single clutch. Since it is not selling twin plate carbon or triple plates for only 180 hp at the wheel. The single clutch has a torque rating that can handle a GReddy turbo too I think. I forgot what it was but I check it once and make sure I can change to a single clutch for the future FI.

Twin plate clutch will have the added advantage of smaller clutch plates. Less rotational mass than one big single. Also spreads out the force more so a 2plate will also last longer. I would also assume that a twin plate will require slightly less pedal effort than a single plate of equivalent clamping force. Multiplate clutches include a flywheel as part of the deal too...

But it's total overkill for the RX8. The only reason to buy one is because it's trick and cool and you just happen to have loads of extra cash burning a hole in your pocket.

the stock clutch and pressure plate on the rx-8 are made by exedy :D so you already have some first hand experience with one of their products

haha so all you have to do is slap on a sticker that says "EXEDY" on your car and be done with it
