Pro: it's cheap
Con: it's a piece of ****.
Please do yourself a favor and read up a bit more on the FI options that are actuallly worthwhile for our cars. Much reading you have ahead of you my young Padawan

no offense but I don't know what part of this you didn't understand...
You'll never see 5 psi because you'll never be able to connect it.
Would make a pretty paper weight though.

basically if you bought this kit you would have to spend another grand easily getting custom parts welded up. (unless you can weld yourself). Then you can run 5 psi for about a month and then you will need to spend another 1,000 to replaced the turbo that blew because the 50$ piece of **** wastegate didnt open. After replacing these parts you find your newer high quality turbo has spin back because the ebay BOV was not venting enough and causing your turbo to surge. However in reality you would never get to this point because back when the original ebay wastegate didnt open and caused your turbo to blow it also blew your motor because apparently the renesis cant handle 35 psi.... why? I just dont know

Like AlGuy say, how would you fit it to the motor?
The Greddy kit comes with a low profile cast iron header that the turbo could bolt to - the ebay one doesn't, so there is $3000 you need to spend to get 'piece number one' and it just gets worse from there.....
Sheesh.

If youre worried about stuff being expensive, dont turbo the 8. This isnt the engine to screw with cheap **** unless you have money to replace an engine. The least expensive way to get decent stuff is buy a used Greddy kit. Then to make it really reliable, spend another $1095 and have Fluid Motorsports rebuild it. Thats the route Im taking. Dont have patience waiting for the MM upgrade.

Also i dont mean to sound rude but it doesnt sound like you know much about forced induction or not much mechanical aptitude. Dont go turbo if you dont know what you're doing , you dont just turbo it and forget about it , its not like N/A. You can try nitrous if you're going cheap with your car.

If you even have a budget then FI is not for you. You can cheap out now and buy the GReddy kit and pay out the *** later, or you can get a quality kit to begin with. Ask anyone, a stock GReddy kit is garbage. Not just a piece or two, the entire kit basically. There's no cheap and cheerful FI. You get what you pay for. Superchargers for this car are over $6K but they won't fail before the engine, and if you know what you're doing and have the cash you can throw together a good turbo kit.
What exactly are you looking for from an FI kit? And be reasonable. Everyone wants a safe, reliable kit that adds a bit more power. Cheap, fast, reliable. Pick two.
What makes you want FI? More torque at cruising speeds? More off the line grunt? Not even for racing but just more low end daily driving power? Whats your driving style? Do you track the car? Is this your only vehicle? Most people just take a glance at the peak horsepower and torque figures. And most people just want FI cuz everyone else has it and its cool. Do your research. Not just for your car but for yourself. Sounds silly but why do you want to turbocharge/supercharge your car? Write out a list of reasons and find a kit that fits your needs.

Ok listen to me because when I bought my 8 I was kinda in the same boat as you about knowing anything on FI.....not alot. I may have made a stupid thread here and there asking some questions I probably should have so instead of going that route do this:
Start reading about the kits that are out there (I think there are 4 turbo kits and 2 super kits right now) and figure out what works best for you. Once you find out what works best for you find someone respectable on the forum and ask some legitimate questions you have concerning that particular kit (see what they like about it, what they dont like, what they would do differently if they could do it over and just anything you can think of). Get as much info as you can, send a few emails to the manufacturer or even give them a call and read as absolutely as much as possible on FI...know what your getting into and then when your ready to invest the 5 to 7k on a kit and the up to 2k for installation (if your not doing it yourself) and the 2 -4k for a new motor swap (9-13k total) go FI.
If you cant do that then either A get a new car, B be happy with what you have, or C save up and take your time

Can you make the GReddy kit work? With enough money I don't see why not. Is it worth the haggle? Depends on the person. But if you were able to install this Ebay kit you would pretty much end up with a GReddy kit. The cheapest possible way to get FI with parts built by the lowest bidder. The only way I would buy and install a GReddy kit is if I only intended to use it short term. Getting the turbo rebuilt and clipped like Fluid Motorsports offers or buy the MazdaManiac GReddy upgrade for example.

Yea i wont bull **** or talk out of my *** about this but i dont know much about going FI. I think I got about 2 options here. Go learn about the different kits and how to maintain a car with FI, save up and actually make the right choice or go with the 55 shot from BHR. My budget was about $1000. Not enough for FI I guess. I also agree, this is not an engine to put cheap **** on it especially because I cant afford a blown engine right now. I already have a CAI and midpipe. Might just buy a catback and nitrous now. Thanks for the help btw.

I zoom therefore I am.
glad to see you've got something out of this Turbovtec... lots of people come here asking about the ebay turbos, not many leave having figured out how bad they are. Enjoy your car NA for awhile, spend that time reading up on turbos. There are a few really good books on the subject if you want to get in depth about it.

You called the Greddy kit garbage. While what you say is true about the Greddy turbo it is not garbage. The Greddy turbo makes nice power to compliment the rx8 and has been proven to last a long time. Because it's self destructing doesn't mean it will actually do that. With the proper care and proper set up it will last for thousands of miles. Other turbos are better but simply put the Greddy is not "garbage."
